heres a list of bullets of things that will be different from a gamefaqs thread from a quick google:
Gameplay
-Loot system: fallen enemies and allies will yield loot that can be picked up and brought back to base.
-Backpack for loot, limited carrying capacity per soldier.
-Timed loot: loot will degenerate into less valuable loot the longer it is not recovered.
-Gear from dead XCOM soldiers have to be looted to be reusable.
-Stealth concealment mechanics allowing soldiers to evade detection from enemy patrols.
-Enemies can be ambushed through proper positioning and stealth - XCOM can take the first shot.
-Stealth elements and positioning can influence enemy "scamper" behavior - enemies can fail to take cover.
-Environment can compromise stealth - civilians and scanners can alert enemies.
-Mission Objectives to complete missions - killing all enemies optional.
-Entirely destructible environments, floors and ceilings included.
-Fire, Acid and Explosive barrels to add to environment destruction ability.
-Skyranger extraction zone can be called in anywhere on the map, so long as there is sufficient space to do so.
-Weapons can now be upgraded with various mods and parts looted from enemies.
-Ballistic, Magnetic, Laser, Plasma weapons.
-5 Soldier classes: Ranger, Specialist, Grenadier, Sharpshooter. 5th class yet to be revealed.
-Ranger class can engage in melee combat using blade weapon.
-Specialist can use "Gremlin" robotic drone: abilities include AoE stun and allied soldier buffs. Gremlin can be reassigned to follow allied units.
-Grenadier can use grenade launchers and machine guns.
-Sharpshooter can use sniper rifles, and can use pistols as primary weapons.
-Soldiers can carry wounded comrades to evac zone.
-Waypoint system to allow fine-tuning of route soldiers take.
-Procedural map generation - maps are generated from a pool of different parts combined together to create a level.
-"Avenger" Mobile HQ - Related strategic layer.
-Avenger can be configured and upgraded.
Enemies
-Advent soldiers.
-Enhanced Sectoid - can use mind control during early game.
-Viper (aka female Snakeman) - can use tongue to pull soldiers out of cover; Bind ability to constrict soldiers
-Ethereal.
Graphic and visual
-Different environments (cities, wildlands).
-Characters models ingame are the same seen on trailer.
-Gender and Nationality can be freely customized.
-Soldier head, torso, left arm, right arm, and legwear can be individually customized.
-Veteran soldiers will receive unique customization options.
Where did you see the no consoles thing? From what I read, it's going to be as wide of a release as the last one.
Edit: read some stuff, looks like it's PC exclusive at launch, but will come to consoles at an undetermined later date. Fine by me, as long as I can play it at some point. The last one was my favorite game that came out that year.

Copped for Xbox One. Played the tutorial mission and the first mission after that. I'm liking all of the new touches they've added on the battlefield as well as the new classes.

Hell yeah. I finished the campaign on Rookie (just wanted to learn how everything works before getting my ass kicked). I'm gonna start a new campaign on veteran soon, but going to take a break for a bit and finish Gears and play some other games.
game is a huge step forward for the continuation of the franchise. I liked the way mechs and genes worked in the previous one better but the classes etc we're dope. dope customization options too for the way dudes looked etc. I liked that if you wanted to play fast and streamline your shit it would help you out and the gameplay is conducive to that kind of decision making where the choices you make are frequently helping you get somewhere rather than just sort of like making choices based on how to be the least fucked all the time and then all of the sudden you're basically unstoppable
the terror from the deep possibility is gonna be fucking sick
new dlc for this has been announced. the article I read for it said they thought about making this dlc package like the foundation for xcom 3 for all the shit it adds which sounds pretty dope.
also. I'm busy but I've downloaded the long war mod and have been playing it. it's pretty dope. they've got a bunch of cool shit and a lot of it makes a lot of sense and is implemented well and some of it isn't implemented well and then some of it isn't a good idea. but whatever. cool stuff.
