Is no one else here playing this? It's fucking amazing, honestly the best Zelda game of all time IMO.

I'm holding off on the purchase for a while because it is going to take over my life.

Yeah, it's done a pretty good job on that front for me as well. Considered copping a switch for it, but ended up getting it on the WiiU instead. Reminds me a lot of Skyrim, while very much still staying true to what makes Zelda great.

i've heard the skyrim comparison. to me it looks like they brought the series back to its roots, since (imo the best one) zelda 1 was open world.

I heard that the weapons you use will only last a battle or two, and that seems annoying to me.

no?

Game is amazing. Constantly blown away by the size of the world and the attention to detail.

Yes, your weapons break a lot but so far it's been pretty easy to come by new ones. Went through 4 melee weapons during a battle with a boss last night, almost ran out.

Depends how good of a weapon it is, some are more durable than others, but they do all break eventually. Weapons are everywhere though, and you can carry a bunch of them, so there's a bit of strategy in deciding what weapons to use when.

Hmm, maybe , I'll get it. There are too many great games coming out or out now for PS4, my backlog is huge.

I was planning on copping it for WiiU but i heard it plays like shit on it? Was going to cop a Switch as soon as they aren't so fucking scarce.

I'm playing A Link Between Worlds on 3DS at the moment which is helping me hold off.

Maybe it's just because I haen't played the Switch version, but I think it runs great on the WiiU. I've probably put in 20+ hours at this point, and had exactly one frame rate issue. I can't recommend it highly enough, fuck dropping $300 on a console for one game. I plan on copping a Switch at some point down the line when there's actually other games I want to play on it, but the WiiU (which I also got after it had been out over a year) works fine for this, it's the system that the game was developed for in the first place, after all.

they went too HAM on the inventory management but it gets better. the overarching story is trash but the lil stories where you go on quests are cool.

the core of this game is the exploration, which had been scaled back more & more since the OG 1986 game. in ocarina for example it feels like you're exploring the first time through, but if you replay you'll realize it's just going through the motions. BOTW is totally nonlinear and you can ignore virtually everything anyone tells you to do. #litty

My 9 year old played it for a week and said it was too hard. He got pissed about not being able to get the hang-glider or whatever. Sucks cause I spent good money on it and it was fun to watch him play it. Now he's playing ROBLOX online, which to me is garbage.

I’m not a gamer but I’ll try. He’s missing one last magic rock or whatever.

Yes, you’re correct! I just got him the doublet to keep the elf warm enough to get there without freezing. I got him right to the final orb and saved it there. Gonna surprise him tomorrow. Thanks for believing in me. Fun game.

that's a legit option. you get the warm shirt by cooking some dish for the old man.
