so i got a nice little dose of spyware flung onto my computer recently

i installed Spybot and Bazooka who pretty much got rid of everything except this coolwebsearch bullshit which i cant seem to delete. Ive also tried running Hijackthis, itll detect that theres crap there, and when i tick them to be fixed theyll disappear, but as soon as i scan again the shit is still there, heres the log....

(the http://213.159.117.134/index.php shit is annoying as fuck, no matter what i do itll continually keep changing the internet settings and homepage. I use Mozilla so this isnt a big problem since it only affects IE, however theres something there that keeps opening IE broswer windows and sending them to sites. Even when my modem is offline, whatever it is keeps doing it and i keep getting 'connect to the internet' queries from my modem. Theres also something that keeps trying to download a program called 'Virtual Bouncer' which i cant seem to prevent, argh)

Try this to get you started...I see some other filth but see if this resolves the homepage hijack....

1) Run HijackThis and fix the R0's and R1's which relate to the http://213.159.117.134/index.php hijack
2) Open Task Manager and shut down process systime.exe
3) Open your Win/System32 folder. Delete systime.exe - all the copies of it. In fact if you know the time at which this problem began, delete all files which are approximately around that time in the folder (make sure you know what you are deleting first...)
4) Restart and check your IE's home page. It should stop setting itself back to the http://213.159.117.134/index.php url.

yeah this shit fucked up my computer completely

it corrupted Internet Exlorer to the point i cant even use it (i was using Mozilla anyway but the shit would attack with IE pops even when IE wasnt being used, and for some reason MSN seems to depend on IE and wont run without it working which is annoying) Mozilla and AIM work fine though

its managed to fuck up other shit on my comp too, like 'access desktop' etc. meaning i now have to reinstall windows to keep shit in order.

Its a mild irritation but im not overly concerned. Im back in the UK for Christmas on my old comp with a 40kps modem which doesnt have any protective or anti-virus software, so it was an easy target. Theres nothing critical i need on this, so im not above wiping the Hard Drive if necessary. Hopefully reinstalling Windows will do the trick though.
Back in Toronto my shit is protected from head to toe against crap like this, gah, i miss my cable modem :(
