we were watching will ferrel's snl best of dvd, and the interviews with conan, and my friend guessed that one of his first guests would be will ferrel when he gets back on air.

not surprised, but it should be hilarious if past interviews are followed

I am so happy Richter is back on the show. I hope they don't tone their shenanigans down too much, because hilarity will ensue.

I think if Ferrel strips to his breifs and rubs all over Conan, we can rest assured that the show will be just as silly as it was at 12:30

at least I hope so

I can't wait

Great show. I'm not expecting the masturbating bear, but I'm convinced I'll laugh just as hard.

Good first episode. Set's cool. Andy was kinda useless though. They need to use him in sketches in the future (which I'm sure they will). Ferrell was good. Pearl Jam not so much.

Good start. Nothing spectacular, but just good to see Conan back on TV. Andy Richter involved in any way during the show is a good thing. Opening bit/homage to his 1993 start was a nice touch and I enjoyed the Taurus bit.

I am glad to see that the show isn't going to be toned down too much. I mean I don't see them having characters like the fed ex pope, masturbating bear and pimp bot, but I think they will stiff have some goofy shit on.

I'm sure he's dead by now, but I'd mark out for a cameo by Carl "Oldy" Olson.

been dead for like ten years.

i was almost sure they were going to eventually bring back the masturbating bear along with triumph and the year 2000. maybe daily news is bringing upon false hopes.

this was a very solid first episode. opening and closing were the same themes as late night (edit: brain fart before like whoa). the whole gang is back, i'm happy. definitely gonna watch again tonight.

this was always my favorite bit. I even made a thread about it a year ago but I didn't get much response

Hey, I liked Late Night w/ Co Co better when Andy was on. But so far he's just been part of the scenery/audience.

High Ratings for Conanג€™s Premiere
By Benjamin Toff
The debut of NBCג€™s new ג€œTonight Show with Conan Oג€™Brienג€ attracted higher ratings than any program in prime time on Monday as the storied franchise of late night reset with an audience large enough to match the fanfare.

According to Nielsenג€™s preliminary estimates of local markets, the premiere episode earned the showג€™s best Monday overnight ratings since January 2005, when a special tribute to former ג€œTonightג€ show host Johnny Carson garnered a record 13.4 million total viewers. (No ג€œTonightג€ show episode on any night has drawn higher ratings since then.)

Although Nielsen will not release final audience figures for Mondayג€™s premiere until next week, the overnight estimates appear to be 80 percent higher than the showג€™s average during the second quarter under the tenure of the most recent host, Jay Leno. The ratings were also more than two and a half times what Mr. Oג€™Brien last earned in February in his final episode as host of ג€œLate Night.ג€
NEW YORK ג€“ Conan O'Brien has reason to smile after his debut as "Tonight" show host.

His first Nielsen Media Research report card shows a 7.1 rating and 17 audience share in the nation's biggest media markets. The numbers indicate more people checked out O'Brien's show out than watched David Letterman's "Late Show" and ABC's "Nightline" combined.

A typical "Tonight" show this season had a 4.0 rating. Each ratings point represents 1 percent of the nation's homes with TV, which means 7 percent of homes had someone watching O'Brien on NBC.

O'Brien was serenaded by both comic Will Ferrell and the rock band Pearl Jam on opening night.

Well of course the first episode is going to get ratings. It's like an event; a lot of people are gonna tune in just because it's the premiere. What matters is how good his ratings are going forward.
