Looks like Will Ferrell will be the interim manager for a few episodes.

i thought that too but since that's what he did on newsradio, i doubt they'd wanna go that direction again...especially since that show was on NBC.

looks like it won't be arnett
Will Arnett has been cast alongside Christina Applegate in her NBC comedy pilot.

The untitled project from Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels and SNL writer Emily Spivey is a family comedy about an acerbic working mom and her stay-at-home husband and opinionated parents.

Arnett plays the husband. Which also means, btw, that heג€™s likely not secretly cast to take over for Steve Carell on NBCג€™s The Office. Arnett is making a guest appearance in the showג€™s season finale along with Ricky Gervais, which fueled speculation that he might be the new boss next season. Not even an illusionist can be two places at once (unless NBC decided to pluck him from the new project and stick him in The Office, but would they toy with us like that? Come on!).

I thought the intro was fucking great, and it went downhill from there.

Episode had the same feel of when Idris Elba came in and forced Carrell to resign.

I did love Farrell's last line during the credit scene though.

seriously, did none of the writer's flag the "Jim tries too hard" duplicate storyline? Add to the fact it made Farrel's character inconsistent, and not in a funny, goofy way either.

I thought it was pretty good, a call back to the 1st season/british version where the awkwardness of the situations made the comedy.

Agreed.

The only part I actually laughed at tonight was when Toby accepted his award at the very end of the episode and said something about the Scranton Strangler being not guilty and Dwight playing the "Ohhhhh yeeeeeah" soundbite.

Time to pull the plug on this show.

guest stars for season finale
Jim Carrey will pop up in the season finale of The Office, EW has learned. Carrey will guest star as someone who interviews for the management post that is being vacated by Michael Scott (the departing Steve Carell)ג€”and seemingly handed over to Deangelo Vickers (Will Ferrell).

Carrey wonג€™t be the only celebrity jockeying for the job; Ricky Gervais, Will Arnett, James Spader, Ray Romano, and Catherine Tate also play potential replacements in the hourlong episode, which airs May 19. An NBC spokesperson would not comment.

i thought the last episode was really cute... *sniffle* it almost seemed like Steve Carell was completely surprised by that song which made it even better. I know a lot of the show is ad-libbed anyways so I wouldn't be surprised if that was really the case. I dunno, I'm kinda emotionally invested in that show...it is fucking sad shit. ;__;
