I thought it was Gus himself who called Walt to tell him to go home.

Oh well, I have no complaints at all. I enjoy not hating the shit out of Marie and Skyler(name reminds me of Carlin's yuppy name bit, "Hi Todd, I'm Tyler, Hi TYLEr Im TODD" or however it went) now.

I understand why they needed to make Skyler the money laundering/law expert/level headed genius...she's a major character on the show and the writers had to keep her involved. In parts they do a good job of making it believable, but overall it's flimsy and annoying to hear her come out of her mouth with all this shit without any hesitation like she's been doing it for years. That said, the slow burn is definitely the strength of the show...because the slow burn is what leads to the big bangs. The high tension payoff scenes in Breaking Bad are as good as any show ever. A lot of it is due to the character development that comes in the build up.

I just have to say that Bob Odenkirk so effing good in this show. Easily my favorite supporting character.

I liked the episode but it was definitely a letdown considering how good the first two episodes were, imo. But then again, I was also one of the few people that loved "The Fly" episode.

I agree with the whole aspect of the slow burn allowing for OH SHIT moments to be more meaningful.

This season hasn't really been all that great to me thusfar. Part of it is how good last season was, but part of it is that it's just not very gripping.

The angsty Jesse scenes are going on far too long given all that he's been through already. They really bring nothing to the story as far as I'm concerned, and one episode of that shit was more than enough.

It was nice to have the female characters step up in the third episode however. Totally agree that the writers have done a good job of making Marie interesting. Seems like all the male characters are in something of a holding pattern which is severely slowing the action down. Surely things will improve once Jesse snaps out of it, and super cop gets his ass out of bed.

Really liked this episode. Plus they played El-P's flyentology for like a full 3 minutes.

-Opening sequence was awesome, I assumed the cartel was coming back.

-The one on ones this week were great, Sklyer/Walt (his apology psyche out was great), Hank/Walt, Saul/Walt, and Jesse/Mike.

-As for Jesse, I just assumed he was using, but the videogame bit with the chick had me wondering if he is actually doing drugs. Have they showed him using this season? As for what will happen, I don't see how they could kill Jesse off, but I also can't see how Gus would let a guy like him live.

yeah i cant see yet how the writers are gonna get out of this one. here are my three best guesses:

1.cartel shootout

2. mike has a change of heart and decides to go to war with gus

3. or maybe, just maybe, jesse has gus's secret spice recipe for his chcicken, and if jesse dies, then kfc will be handed the formula by a third party

this was the first episode this season where i actually felt like i was watching breaking bad. while the first few episodes were okay, this one was hands down the best of the season. also, gale's karaoke video was fucking amazing.

While I've enjoyed this season so far, this was heads above the rest of the episodes so far. So many fucking great scenes in this episode. The intro shoot out was great. The Walt/Skyler gambling cover story. Jesse getting over on Mike slightly (I doubt that Mike is going to kill him because if he was, he'd probably have done it already. The whole blindfold bit that Jesse called him on. There is no way that they kill him off this early in the season. I do like this secret spices gambit though). The entire Gale notebook (which is almost a combo of Cam'ron's rhyme book and what perlman posited as Gale's cypher) scene and his karaoke video may have been my favorite thing. "He has a top ten recumbent bikes..."

Definitely agree that this episode was the best of the lot thusfar.

It was good to see Walt and Hank interacting again. You really felt like the plot was moving forward in this episode.

The Jesse and Mike scene was really well done. It almost made Jesse's crappy storyline thusfar worth it. It also illustrated just how hard they had been watching Jesse and his house.

I don't see them killing off Jesse next episode either. Hopefully this is the start of a general increase in quality for the rest of the season.

Def some weird tension going on with the W.W. shit...sometimes I think they make it a little too tense between those two, I can't help but feel like Hank at least somewhat suspects Walt.

Great episode. The intro bit was one of the best in the shows history imho. Mike is just an awesome character.

Loved Aaraon's Paul acting when Walt was questioning him on how the Gale shooting went down.

The Walt/Hank scenes were great.

No way is Jessie is going to get killed. If it happens, it'll likely be in the final ep or second last ep of the series. My guess is Mike is going to scare him straight somehow.

AMC Renews 'Breaking Bad' for 16 Final Episodes

After tense talks between AMC and studio Sony, the series will stay put at the cable network.

Breaking Bad will return for 16 more episodes on AMC before bidding farewell.

The news follows weeks of behind the scenes squabbling over terms of the Sony-produced drama's renewal. Though few believed it would ultimately come to this, the studio was putting out feelers to rival cable networks about carrying the series in the event that it couldn't come to an agreement with AMC over financing.

During a second quarter earnings call Thursday, AMC Networks president Josh Sapan praised the studio and alleviated concerns about the project moving networks. "We think Sony's done a spectaclar job and they're a great partner," he said, "so we're actively working on a new [agreement] wth them."

Breaking Bad has become an awards magnet for AMC, garnering six Emmys, including three consecutive wins for lead actor Bryan Cranston. (Due to the lengthy hiatus, the series is out of contention for this year's Emmys.) It averages 4.3 million viewers, hardly hit figures but nearly double what Mad Men delivers for the network.

What's more, the series has proved an important piece of AMC's growth as an original series destination. Despite recent growing pains, the net has built a meaningful portofolio of critically acclaimed series, including Bad, Mad Men and The Walking Dead, to help differentiate it from the cable clutter.
