Best TV Drama Show of All-Time

Post by Philaflava »

I'm sure I'm missing a few but even if I did, what the fuck is touching the AMC or HBO shows listed?

Bonus question: Which is the BEST season (of any series) ever? I may have to roll with Season 3 of Breaking Bad. You?

Too hard to pick between Sopranos and The Wire for me, although I think Breaking Bad might be better than both once it is finished. I liked the Shield, but I don't think it is anywhere near as good as the other shows on the list.

True, I'll adjust the title. Felt like the poll needed options so it's not a runaway for the big 3.

My favorite tv-drama is Twin Peaks or Shogun.

They made tv before the 00's too btw ; )
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

Agreed. I've spent more time investigating my feelings on this than is even remotely fucking reasonable.

IMO: The Wire is the best drama ever, but S. 3 of Breaking Bad is the best season of any drama ever (although S. 4 of The Wire is close).

If The Sopranos only had 4 of its 6 seasons, the good 4, then a lot of you would probably rank it #1. It seems like it's kinda the thing to hate on the Sopranos these days but the first few seasons were outstanding. I also think they have crazy replay value but then again most mafia flicks do.

Nothing gay about loving Twin Peaks. Tied for 1st for me with the Wire but Breaking Bad is forcing its way into the conversation.

Breaking Bad. Although I haven't started the Wire yet, which may be my ultimate ban-worthy statement on this forum....

Mad Men is boring as fuck.

But I think the Sopranos was pretty boring also, so grain of salt and all.

Sopranos was a big deal to me when it first aired. I was in my late teens and my pad had no tv. Sopranos had me going to people's house to watch it. It kinda got me back into tv and was probably the first show I followed religiously; after jeopardy and wheel of fortune, of which neither one was a serial

will vote sopranos here but really don't have much desire to ever watch an episode of it again
first season of FNL and first season of twin peaks for best all-time single seasons, both of which could catch another rewatch without a seconds hesitation

Voted the wire but this thread will definitely have to be done again once breaking bad has run its course. As far as single season choices season 3 of breaking bad is a good choice and I know i'll catch shit for This but my other choice is season 2 of the wire. Just finished rewatching it for the dozenth or so time and I Could Just start it over again on episode one and have no problem watching the whole season over again.

quit BSG at some point during the third season.
quit 24 in the early hours of the sixth sesason
quit dexter after 2
quit SFU a couple episodes into the second season

BSG's the only one i'd ever like to finish off

Right, the 11 best tv-dramas of all time are from the same two channels and aired during the last decade and anyone who thinks differently is homo. Gotcha.

When it's all done, Breaking Bad could go down as the GOAT.

Let's do it internet style and call it that now.
Then we can bitch after the series finale how it didn't end the way we envisioned it.

No love for the last 2 seasons of The Shield? Also, I thought Carnivale was dope too.

I'm a Band Of Brothers super fan - I've read the book, the Dick Winters memoirs, the collector's edition magazines, etc. I can't get enough of that shit.

The Wire is a strong #2.
