Perfect Blue is awesome just be prepared that a lot of the technology the plot is based around is extremely dated (has a lot to do with internet interactions of the late 90's). Its a great mindfuck though. Paprika is probably better because of that although PB is probably more up your alley.
Heavily recommend Tekkonkinkreet for bizarre/fucked up but really good animes as well.

Went with City Of God because I can watch that over and over. Pan's Labyrinth and a Secret in Their Eyes are both really good tho.
I haven't seen Amelie, Persepolis, Volver, Dogtooth, or Downfall. Which should I start with?
