Yeah its 3d.
I did a pretty thorough search and couldn't find any thread on it. I did post that picture in the CYE Pics thread a while back, maybe thats what you're thinking?

I thought the same thing, the ending of the book doesn't seem to fit this world. I would say though that it's not like Ang Lee usually softens material. He made a gay cowboy movie for god's sake, so I have hope!

saw this today, was fucking AWESOME! some of the best CGI i've seen so far. the tiger looked real most of the time. i saw this in real3d and was incredibly impressed at the 3d usage. not too many "out there" 3d effects, but a really good use of depth in the wide shots on the ocean

acting was great all around and im glad they used indian actors and even had subtitles in one part. definitely a must see if you liked the book

Movie was awesome, never read the book but Im going to now. The CG was insane, and parts of the movie were like mushroom trips. I definitely recommend watching this shit, preferably while high.

Went to see this last night, sooo so good. Might even be my favorite movie of the year, despite some stiff competition.
Agreed that the CGI was incredible. I thought that the praise of Rise of the Planets of the Apes was excessive, this makes it look almost primitive in comparison. Looked completely real the entire time, and the entire movie just looked fantastic. The shipwreck scene puts James Cameron to shame.
I kinda want Ang Lee to just go shoot nature documentaries for a few years now.

I was surprised by how much I liked this film. Ang Lee can seriously shoot the fuck out of a movie, that tanker scene was incredible as was the Meerkat island part. Saw it in 3D, thought they used it well, I think people on the fence should really see it in a theater.

I'm team fuck 3d, but this was seriously amazing visually in 3D. Probably my favorite movie I've seen all year.

Funny, warm and visually stunning...loved it and I was speaking to an old Flatmate on Facebook today who told me that he was part of the crew that did the incredible storm scene.
