yeah Gyp is becoming too one note and over the top, he would've gotten taken out fast by his own men acting like that. Even when Capone went all out in the Valentines Day Massacre the heat that incident brought down on him made even a crooked police force arrest him and eventually convict him of tax fraud.

I did like his "We are all people so how else am I supposed to take it?"

No Rothstein or Chalky in the episode makes it meh.

Last episode was shameless filler, but that means this week will be :ohsh: according to past season trends.

Gyp's people are terrified of him, no one is going to do shit to him. And the 'everybody got guns' scene was beyond great

Nah son. Shit was like a scene out of the wanderers where the wongs all show up out of nowhere.
Only they arent ninjas but over weight goons with tommy guns and overcoatd. It was comical in a way that was not thought out. And nucky's repeated bouts of morose retrospection needs to get the fuck on, too

But i like your theory aboit that episode being filler in order to set up something satisfactory. Untrained pulp fiction in the gangster drama is just not something i can tolerate. I need these guys to have their own voice

 i kinda saw it comin though. The whole episode was leading up to it. They were playing on that whole Soprano's episode where Tony beats the fuck out of the big driver guy just to let people know he's still the boss because he felt his own crew was kinda over stepping him. I wanted more from this episode since last week did kind of seem like a filler episode, but this week kinda did too...they hyped it up in the previews makin it look like Gyp's crew and the cops were gonna have an all out brawl, but then copped out to an off screen ambush of them workin together. Still a good episode, but I'm starting to feel like every episode is making you think that it's leading up to something dope in the next one, then they just do the same shit in the next one lol.

That's why I avoid watching episode previews to shows that I know I'm watching regardless.

Even though the kid's death felt inevitable, I was still a little disappointed to see him go. They did a pretty good job of crafting an interesting weaselly little character in just a few scenes.

I did miss seeing creepy Van Alden's antics, but I loved that they focused more on Capone; he's obviously one of the best characters/performances on the show.

Favorite episode of the season. Knew Nuck would off the little Huck Finn dude, he had to prove a point. Enjoyed the Capone shit ( I was mad  when his kid started to cry) as well as the stuff with Luciano and Maseria. Still annoyed by everything Margaret does, countdown to her schtupping the Doctor has begun.

That was by far the worst and most boring episode of Boardwalk to date...apart from finally getting to see Gyp's wiener.

^ fuck no. Good episode. The exchange between rothstein and nucky. The exchange between dormady`s mom and junior soprano. Luciano finding out about the newspaoer delivery and using it for the hit. The angry broadway guy saying you ever heard of this girl? Well the next one will have never heard of you. Etc etc

It is very possible that my hatred for Margaret's ENTHRALLING side plot with the women's health clinic is making me more and more disgruntled, but I honestly thought last episode was a zzzzz fest..."The exchange between dormady`s mom and junior soprano." Oh yah...that was epic... :naswtf: "The angry broadway guy saying you ever heard of this girl? Well the next one will have never heard of you." Yah...brilliant  I hate that side story too. Pretty much anything that has to do with bitches in this show can gtfo imo. There's way more interesting characters that are getting little screen time to make room for all this faggot shit. Like instead of Nuck simping out over this broadway whore and following the development of Margo's health clinic, we could have a nice lil side story with Chalky, or Al, or mask man - all characters who have barely been paid attn to and are far more interesting/entertaining. I just hate Margo. I want her fucking dead. I want her head on a platter.

Dude, the scene of Chalky and his goon demanding a "funny" performance.... that's worth the price of admission alone.

Even though Chalky has been severely underused in all three seasons, that scene was pretty great.

I agree that margaret subplots blow but this episode was full of dope shit. It's kinda par for the course of any HBO show to have a few lame subplots. The gyp shooting , the killing of the cop by shannons mail order bride, and the scene with Chalky far out weighed the bad parts.

I understand that playing Richard might not be the best role for garnering future work, and it'd be wrong to hate on a bro for making money, but I'm not feeling duke in the new Guinness commercial.

Episode was great. Silly is being silly.

And not that I think the Margaret Schroeder storyline is the best going right now, but have you motherfuckers EVER liked a female-centric storyline in a drama? Between Margaret, Skylar, Marie, Deb, Rita, Laguerta, etc., etc. you fuckers just aren't that interested in women. I mean save for Kima Greggs and Snoop basically playing lesbian guys who happen to be women, I can't think of anyone who gets much of a pass.

i suppose that's one way to look at it, but i think it is more a reflection of how poorly women characters are written in both television and hollywood. women aren't interesting? no they are totally interesting, can be hilarious, and do awesome shit all the time. it's just that for some reason when screenwriters (and most of them are male) sit down and write a female character they just shit the bed and leave all the interesting story lines for men. but yeah, all the women characters you just listed fucking blow and are horribly written.

I hear there is a feminist rally going on in p and b.
Really I tried to think of a female character I liked in a drama and got nothing.
