Tom Cruise stars in Oblivion, an original and groundbreaking cinematic event from the director of TRON: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.
Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete.
Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger (Andrea Riseborough) from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.
Oblivion was shot in stunning digital 4K resolution on location across the United States and Iceland.
The film also stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Olga Kurylenko, Melissa Leo, and Morgan Freeman. Oblivion opens exclusively in IMAX on April 12, 2013, followed by its traditional release on April 19th.

Oblivion (Tom Cruise)
Directed by the guy who did Tron: Legacy which I enjoy quite a bit, also one of the best looking and sounding blurays I own

Morgan Freeman in it. I feel safe now.
I'm amazed at how we are fine with seeing Mission Impossible-Minority Report-War of the Worlds-Knight and Day level acting from the guy. He's the same guy just cast in different situations.

Just recently watched. Pretty enjoyable fucking movie. Kept me in a bit of suspense and I didn't suspect the ending til toward the very end which I appreciate. I also don't hate Cruise and tbh he was actually pretty damn good in this.

Re: Oblivion (Tom Cruise)
It was derivative as fuck, but totally enjoyable.
There was a fair amount of bitching about this movie, and people should cut that shit out. Between a big budget movie that borrows heavily from its predecessors and yet another big budget sequel, I'm going with the former every fucking time.
