Hilarious, subversive, and way ahead of its time.
I've been having a great time finally catching up on this show, finally released on dvd last year.
Chris Elliot and co-creator David Mirkin pitched it as Dennis the Menace if he never grew up, but it gets so much wierder and more fucked up than that.
Part of the reason I made this thread is to talk about how awesome it is, but also to highlight the great series of interviews that the A.V. Club is doing with David Mirkin. Essential if you like the show, and even if you aren't familiar with it they are a great read, very insightful into network tv behind the scenes shit and Mirkin just seems like a really cool guy.

Graham Chapman and I stayed in contact and I said to Graham, “Let’s do a show together,” and he said, “Great.” It was another premise, which I can’t tell you what it is. It was really terrific. We were just about to start on it [and], to make a long story short, Graham pulled a very Python-esque joke and he died. [Chuckles.] Right at the very beginning of things. And I must say that talking to Graham in the hospital, just days before he passed, he was still funnier and more brilliant than I will ever be. Even in that state. Such a classy guy, it was heartbreaking and hilarious at the same time.
