Re: The Americans (FX)
second ep was fine and of similar quality to the pilot but thinking about shelving this for a while, either til the seasons done or at least letting more than a few build up prior to watching

It was in a financial times article, I couldn't find it online but I'll look through my hardcopies
2dn episode was pretty good, still doesn't feel 80's enough.

Re: The Americans (FX)
Another good episode, I'm liking it. It does seem that the KGB couple have jumped around emotionally a lot in the last two episodes. Last week, Felicity couldn't even think of defecting now she's all about the kids. Still, this seems to be a pretty entertaining and solid show. I love that we follow the FBI guy and the KGB almost equally, and I'm looking forward to the eventual head on collision of both worlds.
The ratings took a hit this week, but it still seems to be doing alright.

Damn this Matthew Rhys guy is creeping his way into the Jon Hamm, Bryan Cranston level of leading men in a drama

Re: The Americans (FX)
This is a really good show. I'm not ready to say it'll surpass Breaking Bad as my favorite, but once Breaking Bad concludes this summer, I won't hesitate to say that The Americans will be my favorite current running show. Assuming it's picked up for a second season. I haven't followed the ratings since the pilot aired, but I hope they've remained strong.

Liked the point they made about the KGB recruiting black people into the espionage. Really looking forward to what else they do with this show.

Re: The Americans (FX)
Good working in of Reagan assasination attempt and Haig's loony statements. IF they had only went hte route of mad men in terms of set/costume design for a period piece i think the ratings would be a lot better, I think a lot tuned in for the premeire then fell off when they weren't fully immersed inthe 80's.

Re: The Americans (FX)
Even though ratings seemed to have declined, today it was announced that it has been renewed for a second season.
Re: The Americans (FX)
Nice. Can't imagine where else they could take this show but I'm definitely interested to see what they do.

Last nights episode was probably the best one yet. The previews for the next episodes were "I'm only sorry I didn't kill you."

The kids had an interesting subplot the fact that they seem like real kids is impressive for this type of show.

Crazy ass twist in last night's episode. Only a matter of time before that mole gets popped now.

Re: The Americans (FX)
good ep, but which twist u referring to? That the kidnappers were Russians, or that the Russian embassy resident was framed? Either way, u tellin me u didn't see both of that shit comin? First thing that popped in my head when he got taken from the phone booth was that they have to be Russians. Same thing with the Russian embassy resident. Saw that shit comin from afar. Great ep. though irregardless.ardamus wrote:Crazy ass twist in last night's episode. Only a matter of time before that mole gets popped now.

This show is dope as fuck. I recorded the recent marathon, and I watched all 6 episodes this weekend. I'm happy to hear that they're beginning production on a second season.
