After several days of speculation fueled by Univision, on March 13, 2013, Sony confirmed that it would be making a Spanish-language remake of Breaking Bad entitled Metástasis starring Diego Trujillo as Walter Blanco (Walter White) and Roberto Urbina as Jose Miguel Rosas (Jesse Pinkman), alongside Sandra Reyes and Julián Arango in unnamed roles.

Here Comes Walter Blanco: There Will Be a Colombian Remake of 'Breaking Bad"

Breaking Bad is will be remade in Colombia with some similar sounding names. The Hollywood Reporter's Scott Roxborough reports that Sony Pictures Television is teaming with Colombian producer Teleset to make Metastasis, a drama about Walter Blanco, a chemistry teacher who turns to cooking meth. He has a partner named Jose, a narcotics agent brother in law named Henry, and a wife named Cielo, you know, like "sky." Just in case you didn't know these character's American parallels are Walter White, Jesse, Hank, and Skyler. It's not all the same though. Instead of cooking in a RV, Walter and Jose will use a "old, barely drivable school bus," according to Sony Pictures Television's Angela Guerra. Motor homes aren't popular in Colombia.

Aside from the lack of an RV, Metastasis appears to be a carbon copy of Breaking Bad—see the picture of Walter Blanco to the right as played by telenovela vet Diego Trujillo—Roxborough reports that it "promises to be more mainstream," than its American counterpart, which had a big jump in ratings only at the end of its run. The show will be distributed to "all major Spanish-speaking markets across Latin America as well as to Univision's UniMas network in the U.S." The Breaking Bad storyline will be familiar territory for Spanish-speaking television audience after popular crime shows like El Cartel and La Saga. But here's a question: Will Jose punctuate all of his sentences with the word "puta"?

As a big Norm devotee, he's trolling people. He's a master Twitter-er, and this is right in line with what he does.

Last June after the Liberace movie with Michael Douglas aired, he went on a pretty hilarious rant that seemed serious in tone and widely mistaken for it being face value that he took issue with the movie depicting Liberace as a homosexual as Liberace himself never publicly came out and sued the magazines and tabloids who so much as hinted that he was gay.

Some of you are trippin, Metastasis looks so dope. Spanish language television gets it right, even just based on the females alone. I eff w/ Porque el Amor Manda on the reg and honestly I could watch 12 Corazones all day.

I'm definitely going to check Metástasis out but a lot of that has to do brushing up on my spanish. I've only seen two spanish speaking shows, one of which was actually Colombian called "Sin tetas no hay paraíso" (without titties there's no paradise) and the other was a Dexterish type serial killer show from Argentina called "Epitafios". The latter was better in terms of acting and cinematography, but with Sin Tetas, as you alluded to, there were some hot ass women on that show. And they got naked too.

Hopefully the Colombian Lydia will be as hot as I think she'll be and winds up showing the goods.
