Mad Men - The Final Season
Last year seemed like a bit of a down year for the show but think this first episode was pretty phenomenal actually.
Sterling waking up surrounded by a den of naked whores made me
Didn't even recognize Neve Campbell til she laughed, Don is a fool for not smash (fucking) her.
Never really thought about this before until the end montage, anyone think that the show could end with Don killing himself, i.e. jumping off a building just like in the opening credits?

Re: Mad Men - The Final Season
i have a long distance relationship with my gf, so I'm really hoping everything goes ok between him and his wife, so i may keep my sanity.
Re: Mad Men - The Final Season
the show always defies expectations and conventions so its really hard to predict or foresee anything with another half of the final season next year still upcoming, but i'm hoping they go the redemption route as opposed to having don end up dead or in a worse place than when the show started. we know he's done a ton of bad shit over the seasons but he came from brutal circumstances and ideally he can make things right with himself and his family before the show ends. the final scene of the second episode provided a glimpse into that possibility but who knows how quickly or drastically that could all change in the next 12 episodes.
Re: Mad Men - The Final Season
yeah, i am rooting for him to stop cheating...
i am rooting for him to make everything right with his children and wife and work.
he KNOWS what he has to do make things right, its all right in front of his face.

Re: Mad Men - The Final Season
that being said, i feel like he was a side character last episode and before, so much character development with other people on the show theyre barely giving him as much screen time anymore.
i dont care about the black girls or the balding 30 year old man, or the white hair guy, or peggie

Re: Mad Men - The Final Season
kinda pissed he went back to his job taking all these stipulations
Re: Mad Men - The Final Season
^^^
they've set him up for either a great redemption or epic failure. i didn't think there was any way that he didn't just walk out of the office after hearing all those stipulations, even if he intended/intends to stay sober and get his shit together. the stipulations are basically setting him up for failure unless he radically changes his past inclinations. all of that being said, i think how he said "okay" to the stipulations after they set it up to be sound reason for saying no was the best part of the season thus far.

Re: Mad Men - The Final Season
why did he take the job?
and i dont understand what youre saying about how he said "okay", could you elaborate on that more? Are you saying he is going to keep his head down and redem himself, or he is lying and he is going to break all the rules anyway?

Re: Mad Men - The Final Season
i was being literal. the last line of the episode was him saying "okay" to all the stipulations and then the credits rolling. they built it up for a bit so that the audience could think he was gonna turn it down or at least debate what he'd do and instead of him asking for any clarification or turning down the restrictions and walking out, he simply said "okay"
and i think he took the job because its at the company HE built (or at least helped build) and he wants to prove it to himself and others that he can get back on track. that's my read of it at least.

As much as people wanna say Pete is an asshole, I can't see how they can't see Sterling is just as fuckin' bad as he is. At least with Pete, he will try to be a team player. I dunno.....let's see where this season is going with all this.

Re: Mad Men - The Final Season
no.
he's not going to be able to follow their rules...for long.
he's going to show them why he's worth it and then fuck up.
thats what we do when we're too fucked up to maintain a longterm relationship.
he's going to treat this like every other woman.
but this time it's going to be right!!
how can he not?
he isnt don draper.
rolling stone.

Re: Mad Men - The Final Season
he needs to shove those 25 tags up Peggy's cunt. how dare she treat Don like an underling
I hope somebody takes Lou down a peg or two, what a dick
when Freddy becomes the moral compass of when to put the cork in the bottle then Don is in serious trouble
fascinating to watch the introduction of the computer to the scene

Apple doesn't exist yet. They'd be a garbage client at that point anyway.

that's how the threesome with your wife always goes down, in your head you got this epic sex bout but then its all awkward and full of lament

Re: Mad Men - The Final Season
best episode of the most recent half-season by far, imo. agree with guun that the dance sequence was bizarre but awesome. It'll be interesting to see if Don jumps ship and screws over everyone else to avoid the five year obligation or if he sticks with it.

Re: Mad Men - The Final Season
The writers neglected Cooper for years. He was a potential goldmine with his shoe fetish, dope asian pussy paintings, and his early years in the industry. yet we never got to really know him, then he watches the moon landing, dies, and dances his way out of our lives?None wrote:THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE SPECIALLY THIS DANCE NUMBER!capable_keL wrote:The Cooper dance number at the end was really confusing
