'The Flash’ Movie to Star Ezra Miller, Out in 2018
October 15, 2014 | 09:19AM PT Justin Kroll

Hot on the heels of DC Comics icon “The Flash’s” small-screen success on The CW, Warner Bros. has confirmed that a standalone “Flash” movie is coming in 2018. The film will be unaffiliated with The CW series and will feature a new actor in the role: Ezra Miller.

During the Time Warner earnings meeting Warner Bros. Chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced “The Flash” would bow in 2018.

No writer or director are attached at this time. Bewkes also announced that a movie focused on DC Comics’ Aquaman will bow in 2018 with Jason Momoa set to star.

“The Flash” story revolves around Barry Allen, a scientist who awakes from a coma and is gifted with the power of super speed. Allen is a part of the Justice League and it is expected that Miller will have some sort of cameo in the upcoming pic “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” where that team is likely to be unveiled.

Warner Bros. also announced several other films scheduled to bow in the next several years including a “Wonder Woman” movie slated for 2017 and “Justice League: Part 2″ in 2019.

Grant Gustin stars as the Scarlet Speedster in the recently-launched CW “Flash” series, which set ratings records for the network in last week’s debut.

Miller was most recently seen in “Madame Bovary.” He is repped by Paradigm.

DC making a big mistake not tying in the CW shows to the larger DC movie Universe. Marvel, even though Agents of Shield is shit, atleast knows how to bring different modes of storytelling into one singular universe.

The fuck is suicide squad. Remake shit like the flash it's like it's time but I feel like.....how are you gonna make that all dope and shit? Aquaman could be cool as fuck if they show enough of the underwater world and do it well enough.

Wonder woman yeah sweet if you don't fuck it up but shazam? Seems kinda retarded. The fuck is cyborg? They should either restart the green lantern shit or take a left hand turn and make it way way way sweeter

I'll be surprised if these all end up happening. Are people 4 years from now really going to give a fuck about an Aquaman movie with a guy from the first season of GOT in it?

Jesus, THAT'S the guy they got to play Flash? They'd be better off using the guy who's playing him on tv.

I want dark flash dark aquaman lighter but still darkish wonder woman (as corrolary to superman). Actually now that I'm thinking about it how do they do flash in the comics? Is it actually all right? Is it really possible to do a flash that makes any sense in a serious world? hes fast. Great. So what? Superman and batman have great platforms for realisms or darkisms and I can see it with aquaman and wonder woman but flash? Really?

Suicide Squad is BY FAR the movie that I am most looking forward to of these other than Superman/Batman. the suicide squad is a bunch of villains who are pulled out of prison and given "impossible" missions to do in order to have their time reduced. It was originally created in 1959 but has been more prominent in the DC universe in the past 10 or so years. The "roster" of the team changes quite a bit but has included villains like Poison Ivy, Cluemaster, Count Vertigo, Killer Frost, and Deadshot. It was recently rebooted again with the villains Harley Quinn, Deathstroke, Black Manta, Deadshot and the Joker's Daughter. This new version is only 3 issues in to it but is shaping up to be pretty good. If they handle the movie correctly and have a dark enough tone to it I think that it could possibly be very good. I am excited about it.
