5 Boner Salute. Looks like the best Statham shit in years.

Kind of pumped for The Gambler remake too, but not all the way sold. The original is just too good to mess with.

statham one looks good, i'm with it. feels more like the bank job than the transporter, i'm ok with that.

btw re Statham, Homefront is tremendous, my favorite Statham lead in ages. Stallone wrote it (had no idea about this going in), and he basically wrote the kind of movie he would've been in himself in the 80s and added good actors to it for no reason. Franco, Wynona Ryder, Kate Bosworth, Frank Grillo and Frank Zito (!) all kill their roles.

lol yea Chuck. He has a very small role but it's in a dope sequence and I was just glad to see him pop up in general.

Yea Caan Dawg. It's on netflix right now btw.

You are right about Homefront. Probably his "best" movie yet.

Statham did his thing, but Franco and Rider were wildly out of place. Also a man named Cyrus should have been more psychotic and should've came through with more goons. Overall, a pretty pretty pretty good movie.

Saw the Caan Gambler last night. As expected, Caan's performance was tremendous. On another note, how did the pimp in this flick become the go too pimp in like every movie i've ever seen? Is there a secret contract in Hollywood that states only that dude can be hired to play a pimp in a movie?

See I actually really liked both of them. If the movie tried to make Franco a badass going shot for shot with Statham it would've been laughable. But it played to who he is and made him a creepy/conniving but a not very physically threatening and kinda reluctant villain, pulled in over his head by circumstances because his meth-whore girlfriend and sister are fucking idiots. I really liked that it wasn't even really Statham that finally made him loose it, it was his own people dragging him into shit he doesn't want any part of.

Ye but Franco and rider arent convincing redneck meth heads. My standards are up there after breaking bad. About the characters themselves, I totally agree with you.

Oh i see what you mean. Yea they're kinda too pretty for it, esp Ryder who def wasn't about that method acting 'loose mad weight and teeth for this role' life. Kate Bosworth on the other hand was going for it like they lied and told her this was a Terrence Malick movie or something, out of nowhere very very on point for the role.

Had to Google who she was in the movie. Didn't realize it was her. Holy shit! Yes, incredibly on point!

Edit: her husband and son were great too now that I think about it. Everybody but Franco and rider were great.

Gamlber kinda sucked. Wahlberg as a professor didn't work. All of the self loathing/student love interest shit was horrible. Take that out and you got some pretty tense gambling scenes. It would have made for a better watch.

Really liked The Gambler. I'm not sure if I liked it because I appreciate how closely they played aspects of the original, especially Caan's stuff, or because it was good. They added some stuff that wasn't too necessary, but I was surprised how well they did in paying homage to the og.

Wild Card sucks. I know Statham plays the exact same dude in every movie but even for what it's worth, this sucked. I will say the action sequences are fun but good luck making it up to those parts. The movie is 90 minutes and 87 of them blow.

I couldn't stand this movie. The character is completly unlikable and retarded in every other aspect. best part was when he was yelling at the pawn shop owner.

I used to play poker and be around degenerate gamblers a lot. So that's probably on me.

Saw The Gambler last night: fucking STUNNER.

It's truly one of the best films I've watched in years: the last two minutes are fucking amazing. John Goodman is a FORCE like nothing I've ever seen and his role is relatively minuscule until it isn't.

Rupert Wyatt is ILL.

Word.

I'm sure your experiences and the experiences of the low-lifes surrounding you closely mirrored Jim Bennett's many existential crises.
