here's my theory (shorty can't eat no book, also i only watched first ep of season 5)

red witch is looking for a bastard son of a king who is not a virgin. robert's bastard -- despite possessing a potent sexual aura -- did not qualify. jon sno is the one she's looking for in her prophecy. jon sno will lead the northern tribes (just as i predicted back in season 2).

perhaps this means old gods=fire god. makes sense to me that old gods who could push back the snow demons are the ones with the power of fire. only discrepancy is that the fire religion is monotheistic and old gods are poly (shouts to MB, get him in this thread)

you know, when you put it like that, it really is shocking. its kind of funny to think how passe the details of that that whole scene (book and episode-wise) was regarded. obviously, the rape has been the focus of the audacity of it but that detail there just gets put aside in the context.

I think in th og story it was not a rape, so the characters don't act like it was. Even if some super sensitive rape activists watch n assume it is, the whole rest of the story plays out like not muh happened.
