Proper new trailer. Looks awesome but Waltz is maybe a little too Waltzy. I'm also kinda getting to the point of being over angsty Bond who's teetering on the edge of getting kicked out of MI6. Casino Royale nailed the right mix of old adventuring Bond with modern predilection for darker and grittier action, and the downer stuff fit Skyfall very well, and it'll probably go over well here too if they're picking up strands from the last 2 movies. But after this one I'm hoping we get little bit more of the old globetrotting panty dropping smooth motherfucker who's always coming out on top without a smudge on his suit. Maybe the tone will change with a new actor.

I'm asking. I think Craig has one more after this. It'll be Bond 25 and I imagine they will have something pretty big lined up for his swan song.

just saw it. loved the sensibility. it's a sensual movie. however.
1) waltzs shit was too wannabe tarantino
2) there's some shit that's almost wild funny like the cat. wtf. retarded.
3) dude fucks with his nerves all of the sudden it's all good. no big. he's super human cause he's in love (not well done by the way)
4) dude runs everything. ergo let's put him through the criminal justice system cause that's what he deserves and we're too good for that. lulz.
5) dudes dad is bonds surrogate dad ergo he has to run the world to get back at him. lulz. retarded.
6) I don't like that they've tied in the previous movies. that's not fucking bond.
7) how many times can bad dudes die?
8) your life is in danger? call my bro. her life is in danger? I give you my word to fuck your daughter

Saw this a couple days ago. Wanted to like it a lot more than I did.
The action sequences are spectacular but for a 2 1/2 hour movie the plot seems way undercooked.
Waltz wasn't given enough to do. Love story seemed forced.
Bautista was fucking great though even though he literally only says one word.
Still a good time overall.

Since the release of “Spectre,” we’ve heard our fair share of opinions about the quality of the latest James Bond movie. But here’s the two cents you’ve been waiting for: from former 007, our turn-of-the-millennium Bond, Pierce Brosnan.

While talking with Brosnan about his thriller “No Escape” in anticipation of its DVD release next week, HitFix asked him about “Spectre,” which has topped the U.S. box office in its first two weekends in stateside theaters.
“I was looking forward to it enormously,” said Brosnan, who played Bond in four films from 1995 to 2002. “I thought it was too long. The story was kind of weak — it could have been condensed. It kind of went on too long. It really did.”

Brosnon's criticism is equally applicable to the rest of Daniel Craig's Bond outings.

Worse than fuckin' Skyfall if that's possible. Daniel Craig sucks Sean Connery's dick.

as much as I didn't like some stuff about skyfall I thought it was sweet in general. there's a lot to like there there's a lot to hate there.

Connery bonds dominate.

the bond writing is no longer about being a spy and that's what's ruined it. spy stuff is cool being suave is cool. in spectre he's never referred to as a spy and always an assassin. as like a point of fact. he just happens to be assassinating criminals etc. the bale batman movies are better spy flicks than the new bonds though. that's what's fucked up. bond should be the best spy shit out there competing with mission impossible. spy shit with actual cool gadgetry is sweet. spy shit about having a super human nervous system and ability to withstand torture? what the fuck are we talking about?

edit: maybe where the problem is is they are competing with mission impossible. in which case too bad. please let Idris Elba dominate the spy game

if I were writing the next bond (with the Idris Elba character) it'd be about trade craft. it'd be about performing espionage surgery. it'd be about living that dope lifestyle.

that's what Ralph Fiennes wants anyway. so fuck yes.

I agree with almost all of this. There are a lot of little things wrong with this film, but when it works it's great.

Spectre facilities are apparently made of gasoline, and the drilling having no effect on Bond didn't make sense either. I am glad they didn't kill Blofeld so that he can come back in future, Waltz was extremely underutilized here. Didn't really feel like there was any reason for Bond to be in love with whats her name. I did like the call backs to the previous Craig movies, and Bautista was fantastic.

This felt like the final film from Craig with him driving away with his new girl and old car. If they really wanted to push things I'd love it if they killed Craig in the next one and Elba comes on board as the new 007 code named "James Bond" to avenge him.

Last year we were asked to write a theme tune for the Bond movie Spectre. Yes we were. It didn’t work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much. As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it. Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.

Finally saw it. I think I liked it more than most, even though there is tons to nitpick. I liked the idea of tying in all of the Craig movies under one thread, I wish they did more with this idea beyond just Blofeld saying 'I was being everything all along' 2-3 times with Q nodding in like 'yea I did some googles on that one name of a dead guy, that shit checks out'.

The only thing that I can't get past is the familial connection between Bond and Blofeld, I can't even understand why anybody would think this is a good idea on paper, much less let it get to the screen. They don't even try to do anything with it, the lines that imply Blofeld was directly fucking with Bond in the past barely even register.

This movie was total shit. The opening scene was the best scene and it was just okay. How they managed to make an action movie this boring is almost impressive.
