umm....... I like that he's a ninja assassin....i hate that everything I've seen with him as a central character has been a) legitimately annoying very quickly b) way too much like soap opera rather than actual super deadly stealthy fighting thieving sneaking darkside shit (which is what a fucking sneaky deadly ninja motherfucker should be)

the fact that this is pg13 just seems to reinforce both of those things and therefore I will probably be avoiding this movie.

Check Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe if you want to see the character used in a more serious manner.

Also, the whole point of the character is kind of a satire of the whole super ninja assassin etc.

I still can't get over how bad Ryan Reynold's Deadpool was in XMen Origins, i know this is a complete reboot(as they even poked fun at that version of Deadpool), but to me this is akin to rebooting Batman and having George Clooney come along for another ride.

i'm not the most critical movie viewer...i'm somewhere in between drizzle and cash rulz ( ) as far as hating / loving stuff goes. that being said, i had a great time watching this movie and thought it was well worth going to the theater for. it was obv funny (too many one liners to count and a surprising amount of them land, only a few fall really flat), nice and violent / gory, and there are tittays.

there were some minor, but glaring, continuity errors that i was just like wtf. couldn't tell if they were on purpose to fuck with the audience since the whole movie is essentially a broken 4th wall. but little things like the leather collar torture thing being tucked in one shot then untucked and crooked in the next...and francis' teeth being bloody in one shot then completely white in the next were heavy fucking with my OCD. there were a buncha little things like that.

also was surprised to see dead's pole IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

even though they make a budget joke of it, the fact that colossus and negasonic teenage warhead are the only two X heroes in the movie made it feel a bit sparse. i kinda kept expecting one more big super hero cameo (or at least patrick stewart to roll out in a chair at some point) but that never came. as a trio i thought they were pretty entertaining / had good chemistry though.

really don't read this spoiler until you've seen it:

straight up gasped "holy shit" out of excitement after the credits when they announce that cable will be in the next one. x-force was pretty much the only comic i consistently bought every week as a kid so i'm geeked to see what the do with him.

Beyond fun. I think the budget like intuition states was limited, but shit, they had to spend half of it on the licensed music alone. This was probably the first marvel film truly made for mature audiences.

I dunno if i was just in a really really good mood, but as i feel right now, this is one of my fav movie's ever in recent memory. Can't wait to see it again. I honeslty thought it was flawless start to finish. Please go see it.

Good enough popcorn flick, antagonist was a bore, fat Gina Carano only had one good scene and Colossus ruined it, Dredd is still the GOAT comic book adaptation.

so i dunno if you guys remember the limp bizkit joke in the movie (justifiably harsh)...but i ended up going again to see this again last night with some friends and who else but fred muthafuckin durst was a couple rows behind us. we freaked out when that joke hit, wanted to yell out "YOU GUYS WEREN'T THAT BAD" but didn't.

Awesome flick. Broke the 4th wall flawlessly. Steady stream of great jokes and great action. Probably couldn't used a better villain, but all in all no complaints.

And there was nothing fat about Gina.

Pretty fun. Shame they had to go with a boring origin story and a lame villain though.
I put this in the same tier as Ant-Man as a lot of the jokes didn't land all that well but overall it was pretty funny, had some solid action and was different enough to still feel fresh.
Love Monica Baccarin so goddamn much, she should be her own superhero and not wasted as a love interest.
