Was This a Dick Move? / The Last Dragon 30th Anniversary Ed.
A friend of mine on Facebook liked someone's set of images that I didn't know. So, because he liked them, they showed up in my feed. The pictures were of this guy documenting the arrival of his 30th Anniversary Blu-ray of The Last Dragon.
The set of images started with the envelope sitting in his mailbox and proceeded with him opening the package, inserting the disc in his Blu-ray player and select screenshots.
Well, one of the images just happened to be of the Blu-ray case opened with the disc still in it on one side, and on the other, in clear sight, the UV code to download a digital copy. I fully expected the code to have already been redeemed. I mean, who would post an image of that if it wasn't? Well, it wasn't, and now I own a digital copy of a movie that I didn't own previously.
Dick move or not?

A little shady, but someone would've done it lol. Don't you torrent anyway?
Re: Was This a Dick Move? / The Last Dragon 30th Anniversary
I never torrent movies. I only torrent TV shows, but here's the thing, I still foolishly pay close to $200/month for cable TV/Internet. I DVR a shit ton of shows and torrent each and every one of them. In my mind, I feel like I'm helping the networks by pumping up their DVR numbers, but I never watch them on my DVR. I torrent and watch commercial free and in better quality than what they'd be on cable. Once a week, when I actually watch live TV, I'll delete everything on my DVR and add any new shows I'm interested in seeing.alpha wrote:A little shady, but someone would've done it lol. You know this was a dick move.
That said, if I purchase a bluray I rarely if ever use the digital code so he may never know it was used.

Definitely a dick move. Would be a lot worse if it you actually knew the guy though.
I had some a-hole do this to me when I was selling a bunch of them on ebay.

Didn't realize people were so heavily invested in the digi version tbh, I've never ever redeemed one after buying the physical

Same, I'm not sure why you would need it, unless you were getting rid of physical media.
Still kind of a dick move.

Feeling somewhat guilty, I've been stalking his FB page almost daily to see if he's said anything about it, but no mention. He'll probably never know or care. I don't feel so bad anymore.
