Ten years ago today was Eddy Guerrero's death. Will probably watch the Mysterio Halloween Havoc '97 match tonight.

I remember being in sixth grade and even then knowing it was something really, really special.

It's the one match I go to when someone is curious about what makes a good wrestling match.

I'm surprised they did that. Her saying it, and the fight that followed, felt very late era WCW worked shootish. It was really weird.

I didn't like it, they didn't have to go that route to generate heat.

I want to know whose idea it was. Unless Charlotte or Ric suggested it themselves, it seems douchey.

Even if they suggested it, they didn't run it by Reid's mom -

Ric Flair on his podcast revealed that he was never asked about the comments about Reid Flair. He said he thinks Charlotte was pressured into going along with it, because she's only been there a couple of months and doesn't feel comfortable saying no to anything yet. Flair himself said he's even afraid to criticize them for it, because he doesn't want to get Charlotte in trouble.

It's the only thing building heat for the Divas division which they have fucked up royally booking-wise making everyone look weak compared to the Bellas. It's not like Ric isn't a piece of shit anyway. I'm sure he would have went with it.

Anyone thinking flair wouldn't have went along with it if asked is delusional. I'm kinda surprised it wasn't even discussed with flair at all before the promo went down tho. I wonder who came up with the idea for the promo...

I don't know, man. By all accounts, discovering Reid's dead body alone while they were both living together was what finally put Flair over the edge. There's a lot that's been said about the Nature Boy, but he's not Fritz von Erich.

I agree that it's not cool to not ask him, I figured they would have. It's not like he's some guy they haven't been in contact with for decades, he has a legends contract with WWE, he's not hard to find. Didn't they ask Vicki if it was ok to do include Eddie's death in the orton/rey storyline?

EIther way I still think this is a great angle in principle. People calling this cheap heat are mistaken. Talking shit about the local football team in the city you're in is cheap heat, this is shit that conjures up real emotion in people and gets real heat. it has all of us talking about it, right?

The entire local football team never died alone of a heroin overdose.

Ok, but my point is, whether you think it's right or wrong, it's not "cheap heat".

I've come around on the issue, assuming Charlotte was fine with it. First, I think the David Flair thing is built into the Charlotte character, on and off screen, so it should be fair game for another character to use against her. Second, I don't think they were successful getting Paige over as a heel, and this pretty much did that with the quickness.

It def got paige over as a heel. Even people that are offended by the angle can't deny that...

i don't remember the last time i've had this low of expectations going into a major PPV

the wyatt/brothers thing... just don't find it compelling. i was on board after hell in a cell, thought it had potential, but what they've done with it is pffft.
actually wanted lesnar to be a part of it, thought his look back to the ring after his win was a show of respect. was hoping he'd get pulled into it somehow. as a monster, having him vs a stable of tough guys going forward seems like a decent option for him. i mean who can you really book him against one on one and have it believable at this point.

the tournament.. this will they or won't they thing with roman for the past year has me tired of his inevitable title reign already. he has to go major heel in order for him to have any interest.

Feel same way about the ppv... With good booking they could have gold but we know they probably won't book the show like we want

Also anyone hear about the alleged Isis attack rumors for survivor series? Anyone but you Roman rofl

Just read that Cesaro is out 4-6 months with a torn rotator cuff, that fucking sucks. I was really hoping that with everyone who's hurt or gone right now, it would be his time to step up.

God damn, that show SUCKED. Sheamus as champ was pretty much the worst possible outcome, and they went with it.

rollins might be healthy enough by then to run in and interfere a win ha.
