Haven't watched yet, but I take it it's a different documentary than the one WWE put out last summer under the same name?

Wow, Hogan won the Gawker lawsuit.

Anyone follow this thing this week?

The video is incorrectly labeled on youtube. It's not a BBC doc, it's the documentary that WWE released. It's really well done tho, IMO.

Sidenote: Vince has some choice words for Scott Hall in this documentary. You can tell he genuinely doesn't like him.

What does this mean for Gawker? This isn't going to put them under, is it?

Probably not, but it's not the final number since the jury is awarding punitive damages as well. Gawker really showed their ass at trial, though in the post Trump age that probably doesn't mean much in terms of damaging your brand. We'll see. I wouldn't shed a tear.

Neither of the defendants work for Gawker anymore, right? Interesting stuff.

I'm baffled everytime I remember they're actually going through with Kalisto vs Ryback for Mania.

Zach's probably the most improved wrestler of 2015. Hope this is the start of better things for him.

I also fully expect the Owens promos on him to be absurdly deliciously savage.

I hope he gets a one on one with him during the build up. Or with anyone in the match really.

I wish he would get a singles run in NXT instead of the suicide mission he is currently on.

shield mercilessly tormenting some low card face like zack ryder for weeks/months, when asked why it's because that's what they went through, and nobody gives a shit enough to stop them. (which nobody does). ryder goes to top card faces/heels for help, nobody gives a fuck, finally gets pisssed and takes the fight to the shield, stealing away the US championship, bust a promo about how the shield doesnt really defend the wrestlers who are passed over, about how they're only in it for themselves.
still think this would have been a great angle, or something similar with wyatts after they came up would have worked too.

basically any heel stable that is completely over building zack ryder into a midcard face. CAN I PLEASE HAVE THIS?

Zach Ryder fucking sucks at wrestling, though. Like, all the years he's put in, dude somehow STILL doesn't get it. Baron Corbin is already better than Ryder after like 18 months in NXT, the support Ryder gets has always baffled me.

Wow thats a terrible opinion. Watch the 2011 TLC US Title match against Dolph.

Ryder pulls 4 star matches out of people like Heath Slater regularly.

So Luke Harper tore his ACL. Fans chanted "this is boring" during the strauman/ambrose main event. Also, a fan punched Strauman in the face after the match was over.

Needless to say, Raw was an unmitigated disaster this week

I'd also like to say, I don't think anyone can deny it anymore, Brock is absolutely stale now. They need to do something differently with him quickly if Vince intends to see a return on his investment...

I wouldn't choose to use Heath in this example. Heath has an incredible ability to make anyone on the planet look good and pull more stars out of them than a Kennedy Center Honors.

Heath got a full match with all-the-spots out of Bret Hart in 2011. He knows how to work with his opponent's abilities better than anyone in the world.

That said, Ryder's completely changed his style since working with Mojo made him become a straight man and gave him some character development for the first time since his initial hype explosion. The Ryder of the last 3 months in particular is better than he's ever been judging from his more methodical style from the C-shows.

I completely agree with your opinions on Heath. I honestly think he;s one of the most underrated guys on WWE's current roster. He's obviously also gold on the mic

It's time to drop the the strictly comedy shit, and give him a serious run.

Amazon is having a sale on a bunch of WWE blurays. $9.99 each. Time to grab some catalog titles I missed over the years (Savage, Warrior, Goldberg, etc.)

Kevin Kelly's Podcast is my favorite analytical wrestling podcast right now, and the round-table Wrestlemania predictions episode was this week.

Really a worthwhile listen (although I wouldn't suggest it for your first time if you've never heard KK before as he was in an uncharacteristically bad mood, start with the Daniel Bryan retirement or Shane McMahon return episode if that's the case) but one thing that surprised me was that the entire panel quickly unanimously agreed that Ryback vs. Kalisto is set to be a spectacular squash for a Ryback victory.

Am I alone in not seeing thing happening? Ryback's 5th or 6th chance being at the expense of Kalisto whose really caught fire and already has clean victories over Del Rio who they've spent so much on, seems like both entirely illogical yet something they would totally do the more my pessimistic side dwells on it.

I guess now we should start one-by-one making our Mania predictions so, who you got? Kalisto or Ryback?

I could see Ryback snapping on Kalisto and putting a beating on him post match, but I don't think he's leaving mania with the belt.

Meltzer dropping some gems on his Twitter today, a week before Mania re: the original plans for Mania 32.

Before I get to that, here's something I learned:
The back-up plan for Wrestlemania 3 was Hulk Hogan vs. Orndorff.
When the original plan for Wrestlemania 13 was Bret-Michaels, Austin was penciled in to face Bulldog.

Now, here's what Wrestlemania 32 was supposed to feature when the first plans were made this time last year:
Triple H vs. The Rock
Stephanie McMahon vs. Ronda Rousey

Not a tag match, but two separate matches.

Well, due to insurance issues, Triple H vs. The Rock was scrapped. Fast forward to what the plan was when that fell apart, the card looks like this:
Triple H vs. Seth Rollins
John Cena vs. Roman Reigns
Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker

Reigns was supposed to win the title from Rollins at Survivor Series. Cena was going to face him for the belt.

After the Rollins injury, Reigns got moved to facing Triple H, with the penciled in place becoming Cena vs. Undertaker.
