THE COMPLETE AT THE DRIVE IN/MARS VOLTA/SPARTA WAVE

Post by sneed »

Taken from MP3X for the board's listening enjoyment:

This is basically every major At The Drive In/Sparta/Mars Volta release...I'm missing only "Hell Paso" which is three songs and is the first thing they ever released, and Austere from Sparta which is just an EP of 3 shittier sounding songs that ended up on Wiretap Scars anyway...Notice the DVD video I ripped from their new Anthology cd/dvd...It took me over 12 hours of work to write this and upload everything...

What would I suggest someone who's NEVER heard At the Drive In? Start with Relationship of Command and work backwards...regardless, theres enough shit here to keep you busy if you're a fan or just curious, enjoy.

At the Drive-In's El Gran Orgo EP fuses punk, hardcore, and emo on tracks like "Honest to a Fault" and "Give It a Name." The EP's original pressing sold out in three days, a testament to At the Drive-In's underground popularity. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide

2 Honest to a Fault (1:29)
3 Winter Month Novelty (3:40)

muchos props cable, that early shit is much appreciated... ATDI are still one of the most overrated bands in recent history though.

I disagree on overrated...

it's taken me over 4 years for just relationship of command to sink in, and when it did, it unfolded into something else...that album is just amazing...

peep napoleon solo, that song is :ohsh:

Mad props on this. Sparta released a live EP as part of an Mountain Dew campaign and that jammed too.

really? never heard of this, but from what I'm told, Sparta is THE worst live band ever, so a live cd isn't something I'd listen to, espc by them and considering I don't like live albums...

atdi was crazy, relationship of command was in constant rotation for a while.

then i heard about the mars volta, and these guys are becoming one of my favourite bands of all time.

sparta on the otherhand, i don't really care for.
