just wonder how the show would've turned out if Pitt wasn't an asshole and got kicked off after season 2.

This was a weird episode. At times it felt cartoonish, almost like it was made in the 90's.
I'm still not digging the need for flashbacks.

i havnt liked the flash backs either. as for this episode, yeah it was just all over the place. they lost me when eli happened to visit his son for the first time in years and its the exact moment his son gets kidnapped. also, the rise of luciano and meyer has been way too fast tracked. they went from mid level, to top dogs with hardly any build. instead of all the stupid and useless flashbacks, they would have been better off exploring the rise of lucky and the jew.

nucky is larger than life, and his nemesis' in every season have been built up to where they are at least formidable enough to go toe to toe with tha gawd. but what have luciano and meyer done? they weaseled their way to the top, niether of them have had any scenes where they do some ruthless shit, and in past seasons, nucky has easily got the best of them time and time again. not just nucky, but other bosses are always clowning luciano and meyer. like rothstein or whoever. basically luciano and meyer were two characters that got no respect from anyone from seasons 1-4. and now that they are the top dogs, i still view them as bitchasses who i shouldnt respect, and the show hasnt done a proper job of building them up to where we should take them seriously.

I called who the kid was on another forum. With that being said, it was pretty fucking obvious from the beginning of the season..

I didn't see it coming...then again I didn't really watch all that closely.

season 3+4 had it's moments, but this season was just too rushed. overall a good show, but not even close to great.

We need a spinoff show of the Luciano, Myers, and bugsy trio...

Season did seem rushed in parts. There were some great episodes though. I love the finale, as well as the two episodes leading up to it.

Finale was wack but I still thoroughly enjoyed the first 4 seasons. This season obviously suffered from a truncated running time and being forced to wrap up several storylines that weren't ready to be wrapped up.

Tommy killing Nucky is such a terrible twist though, holy shit.

i agree with damn near all of the points made above. the season was definitely rushed- if it had been two or three more episodes they could have built more suspense, covered Lucky/Meyer's rise to power more, spent more time with peripheral characters, made the flashbacks seem less distracting, and maybe made the twist at the end feel less forced. i thought the series finale was a good episode overall but i thought the twist was kinda cheap. the flashbacks bothered me much less in the finale episode and I thought they gave good closure to damn near each character involved.

i feel like the finale was a perfect representation of the show- well directed, well acted, looked great, but ultimately had some issues with the plot and writing being a little too on the nose.
