Loved season 2 of Stranger Things. Not as good as the first season but I think a lot of that had to do with separating Eleven from the rest of the cast for so long. Want an entire Dustin & Steve spinoff series immediately. And the kid who played Will did some really amazing work in this especially considering he barely talked in the first season.

Mindhunter, while terribly named, is fucking awesome. If you liked Fincher's "Zodiac", check it out.

Agreed. Amazing show. They need to promote it better.

Yea it's strange it's not getting more attention, Fincher directed like half of it and it's Zodiac-core af.

TBH, after seeing a few eps of each, I prefer Mindhunter. Nothing wrong with ST2 but it's just not grabbing me as much.

It's odd. Aside from not even mentioning Fincher's involvement, the name makes it seems like some 3rd rate sci fi bullshit and the promo on it makes it look like some detective show you might see on USA network. Doesn't help there's not a single familiar actor in it. But , man, i'm legit bummed I gotta wait for a second season.

I am literally stuck on Episode 7 and have been since the release... Watched the first 5 episodes first day, episode 6 the next day, and have started episode 7 three to four times and just can't seem to stay interested... I'll finish it soon but something about it is off putting to me...

Started Mindhunter off the strength of your cosigns, tell me it gets better after the first two episodes, cause that didn't wow me at all.

It does. It's somewhat of a slow burn cause the first few episodes are setting up a much bigger picture.

finished Mindhunter and it just gets better and better as it goes, but if you're expecting this to turn into a proper thriller you'll be disappointed. it has very little interest in generating suspense or following any kind of police procedural model.

First show I've seen in a while where I was legit annoyed I'm gonna have to wait a year and change for another season.

Season 3 of Narcos went out with a whimper. A few dope episodes, but Pena, that David Guest looking surveillance dude nor the Cali Cartel guys couldn't carry the show post-Esco.

Disappointing.

Finished Stranger Things 2 and it was fine and an enjoyable way to spend time but kinda slight overall. They need to find more of their own voice going forward, there's only so much you can do as Steven King pastiche. The monster was pretty meh too, there's so much more they could've done with it. I think I got more out of the kids just interacting with each other than anything else. Could definitely watch a whole season of Steve mentoring Dustin while being rivals with Max's older brother.

I maintain that I got more out of Mindhunter, even though they're obviously very different shows.

Started Alias Grace with the GF and it's pretty solid, good mix of psychological mystery with 'being a woman though history was really fucked up and still is' content.

Lady Dynamite is as strange and brilliant as ever in season 2. I'm not a big fan of Bamford's stand up, but this show is so perfectly conceived and honest that it never gets overbearing like her stand up.

Godless was pretty good, I enjoyed it. Not really as much about the town of women as advertised, I actually wish they spent more time on that as that's the most original idea they have in this whole thing. But it's derivative of the right things - Deadwood, Unforgiven and Blood Meridian all came to mind.

Other than that hot Arab broad, The Punisher was a borefest.

Out of corporate loyalty fanboys can't see the grass from the trees and this was nothing other than a forgettable show.
