Drizzle, you won't be disappointed by the Fallen Idol. It was the last movie I got to see at my beloved Cleveland Cinematheque and it's good. Not Third Man good, but very good.

Also, is Veronique a re-release? Seems familiar. Maybe some other company put it out a while ago and I just see it on the shelves all the time.

It's weird that the big Casino's got it now (fallen idol), i've seen like $40 reg 3 lying around teh local indy store for a while, and i always hesistated. last week i finally decided to spend the dough - of course not there anymore. Who's laughing now Kim's Video?

veronique is actually out on reg 2 i think

Oh, they're doing okay. We had that Rebel Samurai set last year and that sure to be hot fire 3 disc Seven Samurai coming out in a couple weeks. Which will surely be one of the very best dvds of the year along with Mr. Arkadin and maybe the Naruse and Buster Keaton box sets if MoC releases them on time.

Actually, I only own about 14 of the movies after going through the list. I wonder though, some of those movies are from two-disc editions, will the arthouse book contain the special features discs, or just the movie one? Also, I think I'd still have to buy the Fallen Idol and Fires on the Plain because I love Criterion packaging.

I'd imagine they're all just the movie, unless they all also have special features on the one disc.

Thank God.

I was slightly afraid that the rereleases were going to be held back until way into next year.

Great news!

You mean Criterionforum.org? They don't listen. Masters of Cinema apparently do listen, from what I've seen on there. Might as well just email Criterion, that seems to be the surest way of letting them know something.
