Dude, it's fucking Sting. Yes.

Anyway yea, Steph did kill it at the end. Pretty cool ending overall. Loved it.

Sting's debut at Survivor '14, best WWE debut since Y2J?

Didn't watch the event, but wanted to post in this long, long thread that I'm about to go to bed on a night when Sting set foot in a WWE ring and attacked Triple H. I never thought this day would come.

Came here to say pretty much the same thing. It was weird as fuck seeing him in a WWE ring.

Sting vs. HHH at Mania is pretty much a given at this point, right?

I hate to be that guy, and I understand why ($$$), but Sting's debut would've been even better had they not had him doing promo stuff for 2K15 with Hogan and Bryan.

Still, cool to see.

Despite expecting it to happen, I still marked out when it happened, very cool moment. Pretty great PPV, loved Ambrose/Wyatt, despite not having a match, happy to see Nikki get the strap and a possible heel Bella twin swerve, Mizdow finish, Tyson trolling, Rowan and Harper looked great, and hero Dolph Ziggler is the best. Few things irked me though, two weeks spent rebuilding the credibility of Ryback and he goes out early in the match? Also what is going on with Cena, nothing about his stakes in the match stipulations, or his absence after losing made sense to me.

Product has been uneven, but I really think the WWE has been killing the major PPVs. No Orton, no Reigns, no Bryan, and the WWE Champion hasn't been on TV in 2 months, and you're still generating interest in the product.

For those who missed it:

Sting did this. Sting did that.
He was big as a bull and as quick as a cat.

Triple H tried to cross him and get in, and sure enough Sting had him pay.

He's a man called Sting.

Sting looks like Bruce Jenner.
I cant front, it was great booking to have cena eliminated early, and let dolph go "super cena" instead. The whole match was done really well. Gotta give credit when its due.

Sting took out a whole 10+ member NWO by himself. Taking out HHH was lightwork, brah.

I understand what youre saying, and I agree to an extent, but the bottom line is if you didnt mark out last night then you arent a wrestling fan.

great main event. pretty solid event overall.

sting better be the new authority. if they expect us to buy him as an in-ring competitor they have misjudged us.

loved the heat they gave ziggler. i didnt see the swerve coming at all

Sting was having great matches at 53, and that was him in full 53-year-old TNA "i don't care" mode. He's one of the all time greats and, with the WWE machine behind him, we're at least going to get some sweet Mania entrances.

Exactly. "This is awesome" chants during the staredown aside, the crowd's response to Sting was pretty lukewarm. I think for that reason.

I hope it does, but I'm skeptical that this network push going into Mania will equal numbers. Just curious, but for the people who frequent this thread, how many of you have do NOT have the network?

I don't have the network, solely because I still have a stack of wrestling DVDs I'm going through and I feel like I'd be paying to not watch them at this point.

I'm down to just like 6 or 7 though. Soon as I'm finished with those, the network is mine.

I've had it since day one, it's worth it for the PPV's alone. I've been watching lots of old WCW as well, almost through all the Nitro episodes they have up so far. There's some incredible, random matches on those with Benoit, Pillman, Eddie, Malenko, Sabu, and others in their prime.

Apple TV and the WWE network are two of the best decisions I've made entertainment wise in a long time.

Why did they give Fandango a slight repackage, only to make him suck more? Rosa is the worst valet he's had so far, and his new music sucks.

That raw was pretty damn terrible. Also, is it just me, or has seth Rollins regressed on the mic? The back and forth between him and Daniel Bryan in the opening segment was cringeworthy.

unpopular opinion but i dont give a fuck about Sting. I'd have much preferred they let Ziggler just superkick HHH off the apron into Stephanie then zig zag Rollins for the win and all of the glory.

I was always a WWF guy growing up so I was always skeptical of the legacy bleach blonde Sting had, but now with the Network I've been peeping late 80's Sting and changed my mind. He was the truth, more of a true babyface then Hogan ever was, and his in-ring work was light years ahead of what most of the people were doing. Go watch some Sting vs Great Muta matches on the Network, well worth it.

I ride for Sting. Look at his matches with Vader, Flair, Muta, Cactus or his brief-but-great '96 pre-nWo feud with Regal.

I can see not feelin' him post-Crow, but his best work rivals the best of anyone's.

I was always into WCW, and yes his in ring work was great when he was blonde surfer sting. His crow gimmick and storyline with the NWO was great as well. I will say this though, I always thought he was highly overrated on the mic.

The appeal of Sting here is mainly that he is virtually the only "big name" wrestler to have never worked with WWF/WWE. To see it finally happen is pretty epic...

Sting vs. Vader > Any Hogan vs. big man feud ever, dude was the best babyface of the era by a wide margin.

Early Sting was sick. Really WCW and NWA 80s/90s were pretty phenomenal. This new era of wrestling I just can't get into. When that dude Mike from The Real World became a fucking wrestler that is when I tuned out. How the fuck are you getting amped over The Miz when for years we were spoiled by guys like Rude, Henning, Steiner Bros, Sabu, Taz or even SCSA and The Rock?

Val Venis > anyone in the WWE right now.
