yeah, i love the driver as well. one of the best paced and plotted action movies i've ever seen, not a scene is wasted, it's like a lazerbeam of awesome badassery zeroing in on your eyes.
FB you got to see it on the big screen? you lucky bastard. what was teh occasion for the screening?

if you had to buy 3 movies from wildeast.net, which ones would they be?
even if you have em already, which three are the tops...?
reason im asking is im about to place the order now. I already am set on the violent pros, but need some feedback so that i can make the right decision on the other two...

my fave wildeast so far has been
- violent professionals (if you can get the double with Almost Human even better)
- matalo
- Sartana
- Day of Anger
- grand duel/beyond the law (the lee van cliff double stormy mentioned)

Oh yeah I meant Sartana and Day of Anger as my two main picks
As drizzle pointed out, the Grand Duel is actually part of the two pack I mentioned, sorry.
And driz, I watched Matalo last night. I was a little eh on it to be honest. I was bored for about 45 minutes, then engaged for 15 minutes, then bored for 20 and engaged for the last 10.

Matalo is def something that flies on style and wierdness though, i'll admit that. It's not the one to see for action and suspense, if that's what you were expecting I could see you being dissapointed
do you like Four For the Apocalypse, those two always pair up in my mind

I like Four of the Apocalypse *better* but I wouldn't say it's one of my favorites. Although any time Tomas Milian is onscreen in that it's pretty electric.
And no I wasn't expecting action and suspense, I was expecting a weird, acid western. Maybe I needed to be high when I watched it because for the most part it was just kind of dull. Super impressed with the camera operator though.

this is what got me and for the record i was stoned both times i watched it, so there's the formula for successStormShadow wrote:Super impressed with the camera operator though.
although i still wouldn't write this off as a 'stoned' selection by any means

^^ as far from euro-crime as you can get. One of my alltime favorites though, I honestly believe that this is one of the greatest movies ever made
also, it's a movie i would very much recommend watching sober, as it's slow and subtle. Trust me, this is coming from a huge pothead

Melville is not slow, melville is deliberate
As far as wild east, by all acounts they are kind of a lowbudget enterprise, which is impressive considering the consistency of releases. I wouldn't be surprised if they cut a corner or two and didn't get the best possible quality pressing of the dvd.

Hah. Me too, mostly based on the recommendations of this forum. The faces Nero makes when he's getting his ass kicked are hilarious.darkwingduck wrote:

I really enjoyed the film so thanks again .

yeah, nero thinks very highly of himself, he's always going for the Blue Steel look
he was like the brad pitt of italy in his day though, so the mentality is understandable i suppose
