the trailer that uses The Arcade Fire's "My Body Is A Cage" got me extra excited about this movie.... perfect song to help sum up the movie in 30seconds.
some beautiful imagery in this for sure
kind of on some notebook shit though
i wish they'd taken out the mom dying in the hospital
as a frame
and the voiceover at the end had me snorting.
submarine part was fkn dope

One of the most gorgeously shot movies I have ever seen ever. Ever.
I understand the nothing lasts and live in the moment theme but the aging backwards felt a little gimmicky.
Agree completely about the first two statements. However, I didn't find the backwards aging gimmicky, it fit well with the fable/fantasy vibe of the film.
awesome fucking movies- some amazing shots that I cant wait to revisit in bluray. first half of the movie was way better then the last half where it started to lag, but overall 4.5/5. also, some amazing make up/ cg affects that I couldn't imagine them doing.
i was dragged to this and ended up really really enjoying it. i cried every other minute (yes, girlie ). i agree with it being shot really well and i thought it was long but felt right. the only thing that was hard for me to buy into was the hurricane and the daughter reading the story and her reactions. but whatever.
i can't say i'm too hyped to peep this but fincher killed shit with "zodiac" on the overly long movie tip so i should probably give this one a chance as well.
outside of that bullshit "panic room", his track record is pretty impressive.
i didnt notice it too much during the movie but afterward my friend pointed out how big of a forrest gump rip off this was. even the hummingbird was just like the white feather. id give this a c+ myself, not that i expect anyone to agree.
definitely got a forrest gump feel from the movie, but only because of the historical events going on, didn't really feel like a rip off. Actually I have read a few review comparing the two, but it didn't take away from the movie I would actually say that this is on the same level as forrest gump was.
