Lost Vs. The Wire

I was talking with Jay about Lost and he told me he never watched it and had no interest in it. I tried to explain that for my money its neck in neck with the wire and i probably enjoy watching lost more.

What do you guys think?

Here are my 10 reasons why I don't watch Lost.

10. Jorge Garcia - I never want him to play anything other than a fat surly drug dealer who specializes in selling swag.
9. Matthew Fox - I hate this guy and don't know why.
8. I really don't like NETWORK tv shows. They always let me down sooner than later.
7. Gillian's Island
6. Michelle Rodriguez - Because she is not Dania Ramirez and is a big bull dyke.
5. It's been on for 5 seasons and I can't even fathom starting now.
4. It's on Thursdays. And after watching The Office and 30 Rock I don't want to be glued to the TV for another hour.
3. Harold Perrineau - I refuse to believe he can walk in real life.
2. Commercials. I have a DVR like the rest of you, but it doesn't mean I enjoy hitting fast forward every 10 minutes either.
1. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje - This guy is Simon Adebisi and only Simon Adebisi.

If I want to watch a show that seems like its written and filmed two days before it comes on by a bunch of people smokin weed and poppin caps Ill watch Lost.

im not by any means shitting on the wire. im saying that i enjoy watching lost more, i dont think i could watch 14 straight episodes of the wire. the wire is absolutely amazing but lost is more enjoyable if that makes sense.

also lost is still going so it has potential to get better or worse. the wire is wrapped up so we know it was amazing from start to finish.

I've never even seen the wire, I probably should I guess. I was just stirring the pot about Dexter but I'll tell you this, I like Dexter WAY WAY more than Lost.

the Wire was unfathomably fucking fresh but Lost and its oh shit muthafucka oh shit moments win out. over everything. over everything ever. plus the season finales on Lost are unparalleled. fuck a montage, the hatch lights on! charlies dead!! not pennys boat!!! benthams in the casket!!!! the fucking island disappeared!!!!! seriously unfuckwithable
i dont even want to think about if Lost was on HBO or showtime

Season 1-4 of The Wire is fucking untouchable. Season 5 is still better than Lost. I also think Lost has gotten significantly worse in the last few seasons (more "aha" moments but much less well written dialogue and interesting ideas/topics explored in between).

I think I like watching Dexter more than Lost, particularly because IMO Dexter has gotten better with each season.

I love Lost but it has to be The Wire. Probably the finest TV programme ever. On a side note is the casting director of The Wire on Heroes now...Marlo & Bubbles in that show now.

EXACTLY...Let Dexter run through it's fifth season and I bet it comes closer the wire than people are willing to admit...
