I'm shocked they put the belt on him tonight. I guess they wanted to end 2008 on a high note, but I was sure he'd win the Royal Rumble and finally win the title at Wrestlemania. Who's gonna win the Rumble now? Jericho?

I haven't given wrestling much attention in a few years, but wasn't dude fired a few years ago? Crazy he put himself up so high with McMahon that quickly.

Yeah, he keeps getting into shit with the office. His latest incident was in September: he was intoxicated at an airport and was refused entry onto the plane. Still, he's just too popular with the fans to be held back. Vince has to put up with his antics for the sake of business.

I have a hard time believing he'll keep the title for more than a few months though. We'll see where this "mystery attacker" storyline goes.

stopped watching wrestling regularly about 6 months ago and this doesn't excite me enough to sit through a 2 hour show or 3 hour PPV

That'd be sweet -- Tomko just had a dark match at last night's RAW, so I wouldn't be surprised to see both of them back shortly.

I stopped watching wrestling when Vince bought out WCW. I didn't realize how super homosexual it was until that point.

Chris Benoit was ill though. Mad props for last year's entertaining kill fest.

Apparently he was trying to work through an injury. Vince was said to have HATED his match.
