Comic Cards

Post by Prophecy »

Who used to be up on comic cards as a kid? I was huge into these things to the point it rivaled my sports card collections as as kid. What are some of you guys favorite runs? MY all time favorite was the first run of marvel masterpieces in 92. What about the ever evolving insert card game. I remember when these came out kids lost their mind over them.

I still have the Gambit at my parents house in Jax.

This card was one of the first things i spanked it to:

I remember back when holograms were the primo insert that a doulbe of a hologram was like the ultimate bargaining chip in comic card trade negotiations.

I also still have the Stan Lee card and cosmic spider man hologram inserts from back in the day as well (both were rare as fuck back then, or atleast as i remember it).

The Third one was the one they introduced the 2099 set with, right? That one was my favorite. The one where full sleeves of nine made pictures? Or was that '93. Come to this of it, I think that was '93. The one y'all are talking about is my second favorite, and the original one comes in third and remains the only one I'd pay $25.00 for a complete set of today.

Just for the record I have no idea about comic cards. I just enjoy making fun of comic card dorks.

I know some people might say I'm a hypocrite as I really like graphic novels, but comic cards are just next level nerdery.

I've got tons of these things.

And 33 of those 300-count long boxes of comics still sitting in my parents house.

I figure they're worth about $50 at this point. Well worth the 1000s I spent on them when I was younger.
General Interests: Fine herbage! Keepin it real, Jui Ryi Ki Kung-Fu (Blue belt with shuriken certification). Banging the skins with my smokin band 'TwaughtHammer'. European motocross (plan to attend Wheelie School in Vegas this summer). MILF's, MILF's, MILF's, MILF's!

series 2 was such a disappointment. marvel masterpiece series 1 really spoiled me on quality. I remember one of my foil Hulks got jacked, I felt like I was gonna die.

I wish I still had those. They're at my folks crib right now.

I preferred these in '91. No made-up heroes in tights. Just real Americans getting the job done.

never completed a series but had a pretty decent collection of the first 3 marvel series. then started collecting again sometime in junior high. got into a fight with a kid in third grade after he stole a sheet from my book with the plastic sheets (those were the shit) out my book bag in third grade. dirty fucker.

also had a huge selection of the dc cosmic cards. werent as quality as the marvel joints but everyone at school went bonkers cause they didnt even know they existed.

I hear the Osama Bin Laden card from the new Afghanistan Enduring Freedom series is very hard to find, and the IED card will blow your socks off.
