Post by odium-LSC »

So besides jail time I haven't lived in a place that's had cable for almost ten years. I've been catching up on shows but I can't think of any more to watch. Here's what I'm caught up on
Sopranos
The Wire
Deadwood
Carnivale
Brotherhood
Weeds
Breaking Bad
The Shield
30 Rock
Rome
Always Sunny
True Blood
Rescue Me
Party Down
The Office
Eastbound And Down
Parks And Recreation
Dexter

I've seen all of arrested development. I've seen an episode of both tim and eric and tom goes to the mayor and thought they were both fucking retarded. Descriptions of any recommendations would be appreciated.

Freaks & Geeks - Judd Apatow's first TV show. Comedy/Drama about stoner & nerd high school kids in the early 80s. Launched the careers of pretty much all the regulars in Apatow movies (Seth Rogen, James Franco, Martin Starr, etc.)

Peep Show - British sitcom about a 9-5 office worker and his slacker roommate.

City Of Men - Brazilian drama about kids growing up in the slums. Pre-dates the movie of the same name. Created by the people behind City of God.

British Humor Revolving Around Awkward Situations & People Making Asses of Themselves Similar to The Office
I'm Alan Partridge
Extras - Ricky Gervias & Stephen Merchant's second show

Bizarre/Absurd Humor
Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job!
Tom Goes To The Mayor
Look Around You - Spoof of 70s/80s educational films. You probably won't be crazy about it if you don't like the other two shows. Has some similar sensibilities.

Love/Hate really, personally I think it's worth giving it another chance. Also I think a lot of people on this board would co sign.

There's a possibility that it was the ridiculous amounts of drugs I was doing while watching the show that was confusing me rather than the show itself.

Co-sign for Lost. I flew through Seasons 1 and 2. The season before the last one that aired I stopped watching with like 3 episodes left. Then I got bored one day before the new season started and caught back up. I was like, why did I stop watching this??? Last season was great and there is only going to be one more. Def get back into it.

Entourage - HBO show bout a young budding movie star and his friends. Gets hate but it's a good show.

If you like really good shows that unfortunately got cancelled after 1 season check out TILT. It was aired on ESPN so it never had a chance. Show had fuckin Michael Madsen in it.

Also Invasion was good but it got cancelled so u get into this good shit then it leaves u on a cliff hanger at season/show end.

Mad Men is good. 1st season is better then season 2.

John from Cinncinnatti was great. HBO series, only 1 season though. Got the cancel.

Top Gear - British show with 3 hosts that check out new sick rides and then take them on fucked up tests/challenges.. funny show, almost more comedy than about the cars, and it's not cheesy british comedy

its kind of funny that you are not watching and no one else in this thread has listed the show that this forum is named after.Maybe it goes without saying? :shit:

a new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm is just around the corner, and the first season is on demand right now if you got comcast. Get on it.

Peep Show is awesome, though you have to like British shit.

I love sons of anarchy.
I watched the first season of heroes and thought it was pretty good. Are the subsequent seasons not worth watching?

someone here mentioned the British show The Inbetweeners. I watched the first 2 episodes and can definitely recommend it. It's like a cross between Freaks & Geeks and Peep Show.

odium-i'd give cye another chance, but at least just watch it as a complete season instead of just 1 episode. I had issues with season 1 a bit when it first came out but i went back and watched it as one compete season and it was just better that time around.

The whole show is a fucking sham and doesn't let you in on that fact until you have invested about 100 hours of your life. Arguably the worst show in the history of television.
