^ Yeah, I agree about the cliches. A gem all around really.

I came across this website: http://www.explosiveaction.com/2012/02/ ... -1987.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Looks to be some hidden gems floating around that site in the vein of one man force, starting with deadly prey.

Supposedly going to be remastered with new scenes added, and a possible theatrical release in the fall. Awesome.

Eureka Entertainment are releasing the original The Town that Dreaded Sundown (the remake is still sitting in the unwatched pile). Wildly speculating here, but hopefully, The Legend of Boggy Creek might also see a release.

Anybody ever see Brass Target? Seems like a dope Maclean-ish spy adventure thing, surprised I've never heard of it

seeing mixed reviews for it but BAM has it in an 'overlooked' retrospective paired with Where Eagles Dare (hence the Maclean comparison) ... the cast is kinda nuts

Pre-order date has actually been pushed back two weeks.
Our sixth title, JOHN CARPENTER'S VAMPIRES, which was also scheduled to go up for pre-order on the 30th, will now be offered TWO WEEKS LATER - on Wednesday, October 14th at 4 pm EST. Our friends at Sony / Columbia have gone the extra mile for us making sure the color timing of the new master will more accurately reflect the original theatrical version, and not the alternate look of the international blu-ray releases, and also fixing the odd edit in one scene that is present in those transfers. We apologize for the slight delay, but rest assured the new blu-ray will be much improved as a result. Available exclusively at http://www.twilighttimemovies.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and http://www.screenarchives.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Glad they are actually working with the studios to get the transfers right now. Really looking forward to replacing my full frame dvd.

This looks really dope. The trailer harps on it being a heist movie, probably because it's easier to sell an easily pegged genre, but the review makes it sound like there's a whole lot more going on

Looks predictable as hell, but might be worth a watch for Kurylenko eye candy and Purefoy in the bad guy role:

Apparently Romero found a workprint of Night of the Living Dead with the long lost 9 minute basement scene and now he's working with Scorsese to restore it :ohsh:

Dope news. Maybe Romero might make some cash from that movie now.

Debating whether to cop this or wait for the eventual standalone releases:

Released in time for Halloween, Arrow Video has announced the special edition box set, Edgar Allan Poe’s Black Cats: Two Adaptations by Sergio Martino & Lucio Fulci, featuring stunning new 2K transfers of two gothic, gory and totally original adaptations of Poe’s famous yarn The Black Cat from directors Sergio Martino and Lucio Fulci.

Martino’s Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key and Fulci’s The Black Cat will be housed together as part of this new box-set which is limited to a run of 3,000 copies in the UK and 3,000 copies in the US.

This new set will include a host of extras which are detailed below and include exclusive new interviews with Sergio Martino and actress Dagmar Lassander. This exciting new set will also include an 80-page booklet containing new articles on the films, Lucio Fulci’s last ever interview and a reprint of Poe’s original story. The set will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on 19th October.

Synopsis

Edgar Allan Poe’s celebrated story The Black Cat has provided the inspiration for numerous films over the years. But few adaptations are as stylish as those offered up by the twin Italian titans of terror, Sergio Martino and Lucio Fulci.

In Martino’s classic giallo Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key, teacher Oliviero (Luigi Pistilli, A Bay of Blood) finds himself under suspicion for murder when one of his students – and mistress – is found brutally murdered. As more bodies start to pile up, the arrival of Oliviero’s attractive niece (Edwige Fenech, Five Dolls for an August Moon, All the Colours of the Dark) brings with it complications of its own.

In The Black Cat, from that “other” Godfather of Gore, Lucio Fulci (Zombie), Scotland Yard Inspector Gorley (David Warbeck, The Beyond) find himself summoned to a sleepy English village to investigate the recent murder of a young couple. With no obvious signs of entry at the murder scene, Gorley is forced to start considering the possibility that his suspect may not be human…

Finally together on Blu-ray and in stunning new 2K restorations from the original camera negatives, fans can enjoy the double-dose of terror that is Edgar Allan Poe’s Black Cats – Italian-style!
