Miami Blues out on bluray, I don't usually go for upgrading ones I already own but the quality increase described this review is making it sound tempting

Need both of those in my life.

88 Films are potentially going to be killing it this year. Insanely cool releases on their site http://88films.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

lol I bought that german dvd of Cemetary a few years ago for like 50$ after shipping handling.... watched it once. not that i didnt' like it or anything, just never made it back around to it. which makes me wonder how much money I threw away on stuff like this before movies started to get released in streaming formats along with the physicals.

that slate tho.. .son of a bitch... is there even a point in buying the Kino American Ninja releases if these guys are doing the whole boxset

this isn't a good omen for the future of TV physical media. As an owner of every single season of Simpsons released on dvd/blu-ray, I am not happy about this.

Anyone seen this movie:

Camera Obscura have always been top notch with quality releases (despite being very expensive) and this has piqued my attention.

Gonin sequel. Been ages since i've seen the OG but have good impressions of it, despite the scene of Kitano buttfucking his own son being the only thing I remember concretely from the movie.

Back in 1980, George Lucas wanted a film to play with Empire Strikes Back in the UK and ended up commissioning then art director Roger Christian to make it. Christian, who had set-directed Star Wars, and art-directed both Alien and Monty Python’s The Life Of Brian, made the short film in Scotland and titled it Black Angel. The film is a swords-and-sorcery tale of a knight traversing a plague-stricken land with many elements of dream imagery and mythical archetypes woven throughout.

Christian says that John Boorman screened the short for the crew before beginning filming on Excalibur, and the influence is clear on that film, along with other works like Lionheart and Ladyhawke.

I have it, got it as part of the Arrow kickstarter, haven't watched it yet.
The packaging is fucking awesome though.
Just got their release of Spider Baby in the mail yesterday.

Hoping Society has improved with age. So many wtf scenes.

Spider Baby is a stone cold classic and one of Arrow's best releases.

Yeah I'm really impressed with Arrow so far....criterion-level quality releases.
Watched their Massacre Gun recently. Nothing too spectacular, but a pretty fun early slice of yakuza film noir.

Yeah, they've gotten their shit together since their early blu-ray releases. Copped Arrow's Day of Anger blu and that looked superb.

Also, my love-hate relationship with The Sister of Ursula continues with Shameless' release of this sleazefest giallo:

Got that Day of Anger sitting in the pile too, glad to hear it looks good. The Wild East dvd was pretty shitty.

Oh man I loved the shit out of it too. I don't think I've ever seen this many 80s action cliches so perfectly distilled in one movie, and made so absurd without a shred of self awareness.
