Podcasts Recommendations

Post by The Ivy League Nigga »

I know this thread has happened before, but the world of podcasts changes so often... why not do it again?

So what podcasts are you listening to?

I like shit about news, politics, pop-culture/current events. Also, if there's any smart commentary on hip hop, I'd like that too.

What about comedy? What are some of the funniest podcasts out there? And are there any with Black comedians?

Star and Buc Wild do a show on www.shovio.com. I've watched it a few times and thought it was alright. Every show is available in the on demand section.

What's the difference between "Real Late" and "Juan Epstein"? And are they making new episodes of either?

they're slow as fuck with the juan epstein episodes.. they release them sporadically

they're completely separate/uncut/uncensored interviews/conversations that they record for the podcast. check the archives.. great long format interviews with fat joe, pete rock, large professor, q-tip, etc.

The Pod F. Tompkast is the best new podcast in a while. Fully produced content from comedian Paul F. Tompkins
Kevin Pollack's Podcast is good for comedian/actor interviews.
In Our Time with Melvyn Bragg is a relatively stuffy but interesting discussion style podcast ranging topics from philosophy and science to literature and religion
Skarlboro County is newer comedy podcast with a sports theme hosted by the Sklar Brothers
You Look Nice Today is a round table comedy, discussion style podcast that just put it their first episode since May.
Others to check for
Rumpus Radio
Never Not Funny
Stuff You Should Know
Dave Hill's Podcasting Incident
Comedy Film Nerds
Radiolab

Also, if you like basketball podcasts:

-FreeDarko Presents: The Disciples of Clyde
-The Basketball Jones
-NBA Today by ESPN

Also, Matthew Berry's podcast during the football season is good if you area fantasy football head but he dabbles in pop culture anywhere from a quarter to a half of the podcast.

Just as my favorite podcast, Unleashed w/ Shaffee and Jefe, comes to an end this week. A new favorite emerges today, Davey Mac Sports Program!

Wanted to strongly recommend that everyone checkout this week's Comedy Death Ray podcast....

Unbelievably funny episode with Adam Scott playing it straight, Paul F Tompkins as Ice-T, and James Adomian doing a pretty spot-on parody of Jesse Ventura.

This is great stuff. I'm listening right now and I can't stop laughing at the Ventura parody.

Peace to you and Alaska for putting me on to this podcast.
