I liked that twist. Departure from what the show usually does, but 6 seasons deep it was starting to get repetitive. I found it a breath of fresh air.

I'm confused, (spoiler ahead)

So, dexter can see Edward James Olmos too? If he's a figment of yung Hanks' mind how does that work? This season really flew off the tracks. Strangely enough, when Mos Def died. I can't believe I just said that.

I don't think Dexter has seen Olmos.

I said the same thing too. Thought he saw him in the flea market. Also thought he saw him when he was upstairs. Going to make me revisit a couple of episodes just to see if it was a case of Travis' eyes making Dexter think that Gellar was there.

For real man, I was wondering why the hell that old man is the so-called killer. Feel like a :retard: for not even thinking that out of shape craterface could pull it off. Of course it was Gellar.

Tonight's episode felt like what everyone who doesn't like the show feels every episode is like. "Dexter" keeps worsting its worst.

I have so many issues with this show right now.
First of all...every scene on the water was very obviously shot in Long Beach, CA, and it irritated me.
Second of all...no. They should stop this Doomsday story because its incredibly stupid and just get to the part where Deb confronts Matthews cuz its the only thing I care about and I dont really care all that much.

Imma set Showtime ablaze.

Agreed, Deb is the only thing interesting about the show right now. There's a sentence I'd never thought I'd type.

Next season, they need to wrap it up. Have it where Dexter gets caught. He goes out like a G. If they can't top last season, its time they moved on.

This episode was boring as shit. Everything you knew that was going to happen happened with no twists at all. Other than Batista, but still wtf.

yes end this show immediately and maybe some fondess will be preserved. its moving into the territory of "block out of memory completely".

showtime has perfected the art of beating dead horses between Dexter and Weeds. both shows had decent first and second seasons and then semi-ups and horrendous downs subsequently. at least two more seasons of Dexter is way too much considering how irredeemable the show is at this point.

It has to end cause you can't justify a serial killer getting away with it for this long. And the fact that Miami must have a serial-killer welfare incentive program because every year they get a new one.

Shit is ugly. I'm guessing this is the last year that Dexter gets a thread.

I still stand by the second half of last season (watching Dex take down a celebrity) and the first half of this season (when the characters were actually doing different things we hadn't seen for 5 seasons) as legitimately great and, t least, very fun. The past 2/3 episode are among the worst television I've watched.

Lithgow was probably them making up for the weirdness of the season with Jimmy Smits.

I like the Lithgow in season 4, and the Thanksgiving episode "Hungry Man" is arguably the single best episode in the series, but everything else in that season was awful.

You have Dexter killing an innocent, something that should have shattered his entire world as it's the one thing that violates the code, a moment we've been leading up to for over 3 years at that point, and it's just brushed off and never managed again.

You have the ONLY interesting twist in the LaGuerta-Batista love story in that Dexter's alibi for not killing Rita was that he was the witness at their secret wedding, which never went mentioned once in season 5 as everyone was now inexplicably OK with their relationship.

Season 4 was also when they started shoehorning in meaningless twist after meaningless twist. When Quinn's girlfriend wound up being Trinity's daughter? Totally unnecessary.

I think the big problem with Dexter is so few people can write it well. When they bring in outside writers, they don't pick up what people enjoy about it and fuck everything up. That's why Season 5 got off to such an awful start as the first four or so episodes were written by people they brought on from a bunch of cancelled CW shows. (not a joke)
