since this is as close to a brit mystery thread as we have, did anybody watch Copper? premise seems like it could be good, and i'm a sucker for old NY stories anyway

also, the sherlock dvd had a trailer for a Bleak House adaptation starting Agent Scully and Brother Numpsey, is that one any good?

how the fuck did he survive that shit?
season(series) 2 just got added to netflix streaming. yeeeeeee

those last two sentences should be reversed, but if you've seen this show you already knew that.

^ I spent a good two hours reading through all the theories and information on this site after watching the finale:

http://finalproblem.tumblr.com/theory-index

most important stuff from what I remember:
remember that ball sherlock was playing with? there's an old trick where if you stick something under your armpit and put weight on it you can completely cut off circulation. It seems he did this from the angle of the body etc. (making his wrist blue and pulseless when watson checked him)

sherlock purposely put john 'in position' behind a small rectangular building so as not to see his actual impact (as well as to stop john from being killed by the assassin). this was when he is pleading with john to stay there and talk to him. there are many theories as to what happened in the interval between the fall and john being able to make his way over to sherlock. part of one plausible theory is that some of the people huddled around sherlock and the general area were part of his homeless network and aided him somehow. many of them do indeed act quite odd under analysis. as to how exactly they helped or who is a part of the network and who is not...there are many, many theories. many revolve around the laundry truck that is conspicuously right near his landing site.

there is also a red phonebooth right near the fall that many seem to think sherlock used to pull the switcheroo between the body on the gurney and himself. the body in question would likely be a dead body provided by molly the mortician (sherlock asks for her help in a previous scene).

there is a quite clear screenshot of the man on the gurney as it is being wheeled into the hospital and it is not sherlock:

that site has a lot of fascinating stuff about the whole series. lots and lots of stuff that I didn't pick up on at all during the show. definitely worth browsing, especially the stuff about moriarty
the boy is the father to the man

Yea, I thought there was info on season 3, too. Assholes.

If season 3 maintains the same level of all-around quality, this show is going into my top 10.

Last I heard they might start shooting new stuff early next year. With both stars careers taking off well be lucky to get a season 3

The availability of Cumberbatch and Freeman dictated that two episodes for the third season would be shot beginning 18 March [2013]. On May 23, production will finish on the second episode, and the final episode will be filmed a few weeks later.

no idea if that's changed since published.

Yeah, you're wrong. They were definitely shooting in May at the least. Season 3 is coming.

More than likely UK. Probably BBC America 4 months afterward.

so even if you waited for the US airings in Jan, they'd be edited?

Yes, PBS does it with Downton Abbey, too. I've never seen the show, but on the DVD releases it always "original UK edition."
Only way to see these shows as originally aired is to grab the UK broadcasts or wait for them on DVD/Netflix/iTunes.
It's not like a huge chunk is taken out on PBS, probably 2-5 minutes at most.

the interactive version has some oblique clues about how he survived the fall, but it's just a bunch of screenshots and graphs. you wont know shit till it airs.
