Breuer

Meadows has always been underrated. He works best as the serious guy to whoever is going off the rails

Spade was always the luckiest of the 2nd tier for me. He always needed a lead to help and without Farley I'm pretty sure his career would have ended like Jay Mohr. Instead, he gets a few cult (non) classic movies, new hairplugs and suddenly he is a funny guy. He is one dimensional as fuck.

How the fuck he had a few syndicated shows is beyond me. Does anyone really watch Rules of Engagement? I have never seen a single episode of Just Shoot Me either.

Funny you make this thread now...I just started reading Live From New York yesterday.

I think most of these guys are funny overall. The same reason you are hating on Spade is also what makes him funny. His humor is playing the straight smug asshole, similar to what Admiral said about Meadows, he's at his most funny when he is playing off a crazy guy. The same thing you say about Spade you could say about Farley....they were always funniest when they were together. Farley was always at his best when he had Spade to bounce off of. And fuck you if you don't think Tommy Boy is a dead ass classic comedy.

Kattan gets my vote from this list. Never found him funny.

At least Breuer had the Joe Pesci show.

Kattan was always a faggot.

i used to watch just shoot me but mostly for Laura San Giacomo - I have a thing for weird looking girls who manage to become sex symbols because they are perceived as smart. It was a terrible show

I like smug. I get satire. I enjoyed Dennis Miller and loved Norm Mac but I found Spade to be weak, limited and contrived most of the time.

I actually saw an episode not so long ago and shes supposed to be the Rachael Leigh Cook Shes All That fuglyhot butt of all the jokes even though her and her swang real lows are way preferable to most the 10s telling her to lose 20 pounds and ditch the cosby sweaters.

Its not good at all.

I went back and watched most of the episodes from 1990 to 1992 in the past year, and Spade sucks 95% of the time, although his celebrity news updates were getting better as of the '92 election. I'm sure that he continued to improve - I'll find out soon enough.

But I think it's safe to say that he's much better in movies. I never watched any of his sitcoms.

Where are you watching these?
It pisses me off that they stopped putting out the SNL dvds after the 5th season. I'd love to buy all the 90's seasons.

Meadows all day , every day. He's a was a decent straight man but his greatest contribution was "Ladies man" which was pretty fucking mediocre.

Forte>>>>> (macgruber movie made him a personal hero of mine.)

Kattan gets hated on but he was dope at physical comedy and had his moments here and there, imo.

Breuer wasn't great on the show but he's hilarious in real life.

and spade was spade. What he did may seem dated now but "Hollywood minute" killed back in the day.

the Ladies Man movie >>>> the actual skits

Kattan out of all of these by far, his best moment was playing second banana in the Butabi Brothers

everybody else either had redeeming moments or even briefly touched greatness

Just Shoot Me Was aight, an average show elevated by strong ensemble cast. George Segall and Wendy Malick were dope as hell on it, Spade had a lot of moments too.

Spade was actually funny in Joe Dirt and a few other films. Never got the desire to see his TV shows. Very hit or miss.

I gotta vote Kattan. He's had some good moments; he was pretty funny in Undercover Brotha. Just feel like he tries too hard for my taste out of all these guys listed.

Automatic :fail: on having Will Forte up there, though. That MacGruber movie was hilarious.

Kattan is awful. May he burn in the level of hell reserved for Cheri Oteri and Kristen Wiig.

Forte should be stricken from the list.

WAT? I mean, i get not liking Kattan. I personally never hated him like that but what's wrong with Oteri and whig? Especially Whig. She may be one of the funniest female cast members of all time.

agreed about the bolded part but it still wasn't THAT great. I think we look back on it fondly cause it was, in fact, better than expected. It's kinda like phife on "low end theory". Not to mention, most of the best parts had little to do with Meadows himself. He simply wasn't that funny a guy.

Also, like someone else mentioned, MR. Peepers was pretty dope. That alone , to me, put Kattan above Meadows pretty easily.

The Ladies Man is an American classic.

Voted Forte unless he is responsible for something funny I have never seen.
