The definitive documentary about the impossible-to-hit pitch, the knuckleball!
From acclaimed filmmakers Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg (The Devil Came on Horseback; Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work) this heartfelt, funny and deeply engaging film delves into the legendary subculture of the knuckleball and the brotherhood of men who share the drive, imagination and humility to throw baseball s slowest, most disrespected pitch.
Filmed throughout the 2011 season, KNUCKLEBALL! follows 37 year-old R.A. Dickey (New York Mets and 2012 All-Star) and 18-year veteran Tim Wakefield, formerly the oldest player in the major leagues and an icon of the Boston Red Sox, detailing their personal and professional triumphs of the season while exploring the bond between them and their only allies, the five living retired knuckleballers - Charlie Hough, Wilbur Wood, Jim Bouton, Tom Candiotti, and Hall of Famer Phil Niekro. KNUCKLEBALL! is the story of these extraordinary men, and the sacrifices they made to a pitch that would come to define their lives.

Between explicit scenes of her daily grind, she and Louise stroll the city in matching outfits, recounting hilariously ribald stories from a lifetime of sex work. (Discussing a client who was a chaplain, one recalls: "Don't you remember, we even had a little confessional!") An immensely affectionate portrait of two women who have seen and done everything (and everyone), Meet the Fokkens is a rollicking and revealing look at the world's oldest profession in the 21st century.

Hitler’s Children (2011)
dir. Chanoch Ze’evi

Product Description:
Adolf Hitler did not have children, but what of the families of Hermann Göring, Heinrich Himmler and Hans Frank, to name a few? What is it like for the descendants of these top Nazi officials to deal with the legacy left behind by their notorious families? HITLER'S CHILDREN introduces us to the children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews of these infamous men. Among them Niklas Frank, son of Hans Frank and godson of Hitler, who despises his father's past so much that he has spent his entire adult life researching and writing negatively about him, often touring around Germany to lecture against his father and the Nazi regime. And Bettina Göring - the great-niece of Hitler's second in command, Hermann Göring - who lives in voluntary exile in Santa Fe, NM and together with her brother decided to get sterilized so as to not pass on the Göring name or blood. These, and many others, discuss how they have coped with the fact that their last name alone immediately raises images of murder and genocide; and how they have reached a balance between the natural admiration and affection children feel towards their parents, and their innate revulsion of their crimes. Some have been more successful than others at achieving that balance, but each bares, for the first time, the scars that their legacy has left them.

Together, they tackle cases ranging from a missing cat to a murder that may involve the Pentagon. Based on the novels by beloved author Douglas Adams (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), Dirk Gently follows the detective as he spins coincidences into explanations for seemingly unsolvable mysteries. Although he's regarded as a mere con man by some, Dirk often delivers astonishing results with his unusual tactics. This rollicking adaptation also features Helen Baxendale (Friends, Kidnap and Ransom), Lisa Jackson (Daniel Deronda), Jason Watkins (Being Human), and Bill Paterson (Traffik).

I've seen it. It's fairly entertaining actually, I think a lot of you would like it. The way they try to inject some heart into the movie is pretty manipulative, but there's enough entertaining shit going on that you don't get too mad about it. You're pretty much getting exactly what you think you're getting.
