From the List.

Image

For clarification, anything with monster/aliens was disqualified as was anything based on actual events (e.g. United 93 & Titanic).

def Armageddon

not crazy about thsi genre overall though

i'd rather the destruction be sentient and purposeful. nature is only a good villain in Herzog documentaries

Jesus...has there ever been a good disaster movie? There's a few I have never seen on the list but pretty much every one I have is a really bad movie with a few cool scenes of destruction.

I didn't see Armeggedon on the list when I first read it. Definitely the best one.

Yeah not into it myself neither, does Perfect Storm qualify? cos fuck me thats the most boredom Ive felt from that much danger. Twister is hilariously bad, almost worth a watch to see.

Armageddon, probably cos its the least disastery.

While I loved the ending of Deep Impact, Armageddon wins.

I cried when Liv Tyler is saying goodbye to Bruce Willis. (daddy-daughter thing)

yeah armageddon. ive watched this movie quite a few times and have cried probably 60% of the time at a wide variety of moments. sometimes multi-cries during one viewing even at absurd parts like once i cried when they were talking about star wars casting while dismantling/rebuilding the rover
best theme song
best cast of misfits BY FAR
coolest premise for disaster/disaster relief
best backdrop for the misfits
best nerds
top 3 bosses

The Posiedon Adventure the film Paddy Chayefsky is too cynical and nihilistic.

Also have to give some credit to the other side of the coin with 2012.

I would have picked Hard Rain, but I guess it's more of a crime movie that's constantly raining.
