I can't wait for this movie..

here's a cool grantland review on it. http://grantland.com/hollywood-prospect ... of-raid-2/
minor spoiler but awesome nonetheless.
Even Yayan Ruhian, who played a merciless henchman named “Mad Dog” in the first film and died at the end, gets to come back as a new character, fighting off a 50-man ambush in a two-story disco while sporting an amazing wig that makes him look like Gandalf the Homeless.

First impression is this is really is The Dark Knight of martial arts movies. The Good The Bad And The Ugly also came to mind, more than the DK actually. In both good ways and bad - yes this shit is epic as all fuck, but no it probably doesn't need to be quite as long as it is and you can probably do away with about 1/3 of the plot without loosing much. At the same time I wasn't bored for even a microsecond; so it's not like the extra time is really a problem (unless you're a bitch) it's more like an indulgence. If you are a fan of what is happening on screen, you will not mind that indulgence.

Gonna save further gushing until I see it again, because 4 days after seeing it I'm still ready to crown this as the greatest shit I've ever seen. Which is probably a bit much.

Fuck!

About to go and watch this but I took a couple of pain killers by mistake instead of gut rot tablets.

I waited fucking months for this movie and now I'll probably fall asleep in the movie theatre like a fag.

Great, great movie. I thought it might have trouble topping the first...until the last 45 minutes or so. The car chase and the final sequence are some of the best action scenes I've ever seen. There's more story than I expected, but it makes for a better payoff in the end.

 That's actually spot on.

Considering that this and it's predecessor are written and directed by a Welsh man, chances of other famous British sitcom characters appearing in a follow-up do not seem that remote. Bound to be a pencak silat master out there that's a dead-ringer for On The Buses' Blakey.

A action classic. Loved the absurdity of the plot. That crazy red restaurant that gangster with the gummy leg always chilled it.

How in the end the dude was just like, "fuck it, I'm going to murder every goddamn person in this building with my bare hands."

That was dope how they built up hammer girl and baseball bat guy as real bosses and the crazy mustached guy as supreme badasses. Made the fights at the end real suspenseful. Glad they didn't go the Siegal style and have him easily dispense of the final bad guys with supreme ease.
If I had a hammer/I'd build a city on stilts

Deleted scene;

http://www.vulture.com/2014/03/violent- ... scene.html
"This was probably the hardest for me to cut due to the fact that the production on this scene lasted around six days of shooting, it cost us a fuckload to make, and it served to escalate the gang war out onto the streets, involving people outside of the closed off inter-gang politics. At the end of the day, though, after discussing its worth, it took us away from the central theme for a little too long, with characters that would only exist in this scene alone."

Bejo looked like an arabic R&B sensation. Dude probably sells out stadiums in Dubai. Would've really not felt too far out of pocket for him to have been introduced via a Bollywood-esque dance sequence

saw Raid 2 today. whoa. leeee. fucccckkk.

for sure it's one of the Top 5 Dead or Alive GOAT action flicks. no doubt.

such an awesome evolution from the first. it is a sequel, but it takes NOTHING from the original except for a few main characters... and the fucking legendary action sequences.

that train scene is classic. and nothin but the absolute motherfucking essence of utter brutality. hammers have never been so vicious.

this movie is a masterpiece. and it ends perfectly. like, FOR REAL BRO. you are.

SO MUCH POINT BLANK GUNSHOTS :wtf: :megaman:

^^^ ha ha. different universe. but actually, yes. it is better than Captain America. but it also has smaller ambitions, and I love Captain America 2 for the seismic shift in tone it has created for comic book movies, while still holding firm to being a medium sized part of a grander vision for the Avengers universe... nothing in cinematic history has ever done what my beloved comic characters are doing now, and I love the history they are re-writing by doing it... but still: ubersuperprops to this little movie called "The Raid 2", it beats with the heart of a Kraken and beats up its competition with the fists of God.

there has NEVER been a more realistic action movie hero

I mean, Schwarzenegger looked like SCORCHED SHIT after he fought the alien hunter in the first Predator movie... but even HE didn't look at beaten up as Iko Uwais did after demolishing and obliterating EVERY FUCKING BODY. I just wanted Rama to get a fucking hammock under two palm trees, a case of beer, a garbage bag of weed and just CHILL THE FUCK OUT for a month, bro. You earned this down-time, Officer Fight Club.

the bad guy with the sickles even reminded me of Maddog from the first flick, with his berzerker fighting style and even facial features... the second (smaller) cheek scar was a really good symmetry continuity look. A good filmmaker does that for their audience.

Top 5, Dead or Alive.

Finally just saw this. Man, the intensity of the fight scenes is just off the charts. The kitchen fight scene is just epic. The brutality, and intensity of the fights is something to behold. "Hammer Girl" was

My only real nitpick(s) is that I don't think this film needed to be 2.5 hours long, and the story is very familiar. All that being said, this is a must see film, and an action classic.
