Noah (Darren Aronofsky, 2014)
despite all the negative press about how troubled of a production this was, still think this looks pretty awesome.
Aronofsky bout to make the ultimate disaster movie

Re: Noah (Darren Aronofsky, 2014)
didn't really hear it was a troubled production, heard that the studio wanted to fuck with the editing of it and Darren wasn't having that

Re: Noah (Darren Aronofsky, 2014)
well yeah maybe bad wording, Aronofsky made a fantasy film, Studio wants to tame it down more like the bible story so they can get that Passion of the Christ money
trailer has been on youtube for less than an hour and the comments section is already filled with upset loonies

A graphic novel DarrArf wrote before filming the movie, allegedly the novel is his vision for the movie presented in comic form

That's awesome, I didn't realize that was the intended direction.
Almost did background work for this. Excerpt from the offer email:
Needless to say, I'm excited to see this.
Almost did background work for this. Excerpt from the offer email:
I wrote back to them saying I could work seven days which I figured was enough. Boy was I wrong. But man am I happy they rejected my half-assed self. I spoke to a PA buddy of mine who was on that shoot and he said it was by far the roughest production he's ever been on location for.You attended our open call on June 29th for the upcoming Darren Aronofsky film "Noah". We think you have a great look for the film & we would like to cast you as either a Soldier or Refugee. Below are some dates we need you to take a look at & let us know if you can make yourself available for them.
Right now the tentative shoot dates are scheduled for 8/27-8/31, 9/5, 9/12, 9/13, 9/18- 9/21, 9/24, 9/26, 9/27, 10/5. This is still subject to change. This is 17 days total so please be honest and let us know what type of commitment you are able to make. Some of the dates listed are 5 straight weekdays (Mon-Fri). We understand some of you may have day jobs and cannot commit to working every day, which is fine, but we must know that in advance so we can figure who will work in which scenes. Filming will take place in Oyster Bay, Long Island.
Needless to say, I'm excited to see this.
Re: Noah (Darren Aronofsky, 2014)
shits fucking sweet.
its movies like this that remind you of how awesome a well told myth can be
from start to finish shit is sweet if ultimately imperfect but the gawd aronofsky does not slip here. a great addition to his filmography

Just got back from this on IMAX, shit is fucking mind-blowingly awesome. I can totally understand why there are mad butthurt Christians at this, there are rock monster angels, but they are fucking awesome and in the end the heart of the story is still the same.
The actual flood scene is worth price of admission on its own. So many great visuals. Aronofsky does a really great job bringing out how dark of a story it really is. 6/6.

Re: Noah (Darren Aronofsky, 2014)
just watched the movie, was fantastic.
really enjoyed the part about Naoh explaining the creation of the universe PLUS evolution PLUS religion.
Felt so good to see that happening and actually being allowed to play in a theater. Really surprised they let it pass, because obviously a ton of people (religious extemists) are gonna be BUTTHURT all over it.
Hey, how can i get my hands on that comic you guys are posting pictures of? I would like to read it.
