STAR WARS ORIGINAL TRILOGY TOURNEY: REBELS

Post by Spartan »

Image
Name: Biggs Darklighter (Red 3)
Homeworld: Tatooine
Quote: Sir, Luke is the best bush pilot in the Outer Rim territories!
Details: Luke's buddy from Tatooine. Lasted about ten minutes in his fucking X-Wing. Occasionally posts on the baby blue.

Image
Name: General Jan Dodonna
Homeworld: Commenor
Quote: The shaft is ray-shielded, so you'll have to use proton torpedoes.
Details: Other than Obi-Wan, the only Boom Bap Dinosaur from the first film to know about the Force. Sent a bunch of fuck-ups and misfits to their doom in order to blow up the first Death Star.

Image
Name: Wedge Antilles (Red 2) (Rogue Leader)
Homeworld: Corellia
Quote: Look at the size of that thing!
Details: The only Rebel Pilot to fight in every major battle and survive, which makes him underrated. The actor who played him is Ewan MacGregor's uncle.

Image
Name: Dak Ralter
Homeworld: Kalist VI
Quote: Right now I feel I could take on the whole Empire myself.
Details: Luke's Snow Speeder gunner during the Battle of Hoth. Hilariously lasted about five seconds and was then squashed by an AT-AT's foot.

Image
Name: Jak Porkins (Red 6)
Homeworld: Bestine IV
Quote: No, I'm all—Aargh!
Details: The obesejesus of X-Wing pilots. Would later crop up in a bunch of small scenes in Spielberg's films.

Image
Name: Mon Mothma
Homeworld: Chandrilla
Quote: Many Bothans died to bring us this information.
Details: Other than Princess Leia, the only broad in the Rebellion that runs shit. One of the worst Star Wars figures ever.

Image
Name: Nien Nunb
Homeworld: Sullast
Quote: N/A
Details: Lando Calrissian's co-pilot in the Millennium Falcon during the Battle of Endor.

Image
Name: Admiral Ackbar
Homeworld: Dac
Quote: It's a trap!
Details: This Mon Calamari Rebelion leader danced with a couple of Ewoks and spawned an internet meme.

Image
Name: General Crix Madine
Homeworld: Corellia
Quote: We have stolen a small Imperial shuttle. Disguised as a cargo ship, and using a secret Imperial code, a strike team will land on the moon and deactivate the shield generator.
Details: Defected form the Empire and became Rebel scum. Without a doubt rocked the worst hair style atrocity ever committed in the entire Star Wars franchise (including Chewbacca's center-parting fiasco in Return of the Jedi).

Definitely a tough one but I gotta go with Rogue Leader. Dude gets zapped by Vader, shot down by Veers, and manages to Tokyo Drift right through the second Death Star. Gets continually fucked up and keeps on coming back for more.

Can't decide between Wedge, Nien and Ackbar, however, the latter is easily a prime contender for best emotional performance by an actor in a rubber suit:

Initially was thinking Wedge before I even checked out the options. Ackbar is obviously another solid choice. However, I had to go with Jak Porkins (Wookieepedia says it's spelled "Jek", not that I give a shit about changing it). I feel like that dude knew he signing up to die and still went through with the mission. Now if that's not a badass Rebel martyr, I don't know what is.

wedge. skilled pilot. his realism indicates hes not a crazy fanatic zealot rebel and his survival skills bolster this feeling. also one of the few rebels who doesnt say anything sooooper stupid and still have an impact on screen

I'd be hard pressed not to give it to Wedge, dude was bad ass. Ackbar is that dude too though.

Could have sworn "Wheel in the Sky" was a protest song about the Death Star.
