I never noticed before until last week, but I like to read books that embody the extreme opposite of the season I'm in. I'll rephrase: I like to read books that show perfect summer in the dead of winter and vice versa.
I can't give you many examples (3), but I hope you experts you can come up with books that radiate a certain season. This is based on a TROY-thread some time ago, where people asked for perfect winter songs.
My examples
Jack London - White Fang (winter)
Dan Simmons - Summer of Night (seems obvious, no?)
Ray Bradbury - Death is a Lonely Business (autumn)
Hope you catch my drift. Add on.....
