I'm a fan, as most of these titles wouldn't get released otherwise and more shit on blu-ray is always a good thing. I also like that they prefer to release older era stuff (the owners formed the label to put out films from the 60's, and a lot of the bigger name stuff they only put out to fund the titles they really want). Plus they put me onto Rapture, which i bought blind and ended up really loving.
But you have to be careful with them, they're not anything like Criterion, they don't supervise new transfers for their releases, they just put out whatever the studios give them so you really should wait for reviews before dropping any coin, Some of their releases like Night of the Living Dead, Violent Saturday and Titus have major picture issues. Plus they rarely have any supplemental material whatsoever.

I think I have 14 that they put out
The Kremlin Letter
Mysterious Island
Rapture
The Roots of Heaven
Swamp Water
Bite the Bullet
Journey to the Center of the Earth
Our Man Flint
Experiment in Terror
Christine
Major Dundee
Leave Her To Heaven
Hard Times (I got one of the copies signed by Walter Hill)
The Driver
And I had Enemy Mine but I sold it.

Will Definitely by Thunderbolt & Lightfoot, Bring me the Head of Alfredo Garcia, Wild at Heart, Rollerball, The Mechanic, The Train and The Man From Laramie.
Pretty great release schedule this year.

I didn't know they were still having suspect releases. I remember Violent Saturday being only in full screen, yet it runs often on TCM and it's a beautiful widescreen print. I haven't heard about Titus. Didn't they just release that on Blu?

Violent Saturday is widescreen but its not anamorphic.
Titus is just an older transfer, it was done in like 2004 or something, so it looks like a slightly upscaled dvd.
I think Sexy Beast might be the same way. Night of the Living Dead's color timing was messed with drastically.
Most of their stuff looks really nice, the transfer for Enemy Mine is one of the best I've ever seen for a B-Movie, but again, they only can afford to put out what they are given to the studios. And it doesn't really seem like they pay that much attention to what they are getting.

fyi dvd beaver has details on violent saturday versions. looks like reg2 bluray might be the best but the TT version doesn't look nowheere near as terrible as I've heard from cursory buyer reviews

Eureka is putting out a dual format version in May yo, that'll be the one to get I'm sure.

This also increases the chances that it'll end up on Criterion eventually since they seem to have similar catalogs (and Twilight Time's window of exclusivity in the US is 3 years, which is over)

I'm cysed about "Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia" on blu ray. Apparently the Twilight Time transfer might be similar to one that's already circulating in Euroland. Do you guys think I should spend the money on it, or is there a good chance another company comes along (like Criterion) and goes balls out with it?

Apparently the extras are going to be pretty decent on this release as well.

This is a release I've been waiting to drop on blu for a long time.

from what I understand, TT gets the rights to sell the very limited editions so long as the studio doesn't license another release for 5 years or something like that. So many good titles coming out this year. The classic USED CARS w/ dah gawd Kurt Russell should be in everybody's collection.

Dudes, its 3 years of exclusivity.
Am I just talking to myself?
So at the earliest no one else is putting it out until 2017

Okay, I just looked it up. It looks like Twilight Time gets 3 years of exclusivity for their releases. After that, any company can purchase the rights to the title and release their own version.
Don't know why it's taken 12 posts to get the correct information out there.

Look guys, let's stop fucking around here.

Twilight Time gets three years of exclusivity. Why do I have to do everything myself?

So I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on "Bring me the Head...", the pre-order is officially up.

Paying $30 for a blu-ray makes me :owens: though.

I shall ask you guys again. Do you think Criterion could ever come along and release this after Twilight Time loses its exclusivity?

Yeah they're overpriced but worst case scenario if you regret the purchase you can always sell it for 2-3x what you paid for it once it goes out of print.
I funded a bunch of TT purchases by buying a few extra copies of Christine and flipping them for $90 each.
