House of Cards - Season 2

Post by Dan »

The second season is streaming now. How many of you will binge through the whole season this weekend? I haven't started yet but will later this afternoon.

Use spoiler tags if you feel the need to discuss things that happen during the show.

Thanks for reminding me, good sir. I slept on season 1, then watched and was ashamed for ignoring it.

Show was good but not the kind of great I was hoping for. I'm planning on watching this season two episodes a week.

It's sad they killed off the best character from the first season.

This, but Stamper's still around and he seems like a trill individual.

I'll probably watch a lot of it tomorrow.

If you watched the British version that turn was kind of expected.
Frances throws her off the roof of a building.
I'm 3 episodes in on the new season.

She sucked and I'm glad she's dead, but the eye candy on the show just took a massive hit. Russo's goofy eyed lady just moved to the pole position and I'm not sure how I feel about that.

6 eps deep so far. 1st ep like everyone said is :ohsh: then we get some dips but overall pretty good.
You knew he was going to push her about 5 minutes before it happened.

Shit's cool so far, but could they possibly cast any more 30-40 year old brunette white women?

Watched 3 more today, I'm up to chapter 20 now.

Not really a spoiler, just an observation from watching chapter 19.
Underwood got his pitching technique from Kenny Powers.

Not a fan of the first episode. Thought it was way too ridiculous. Episode 5 with the Chinese guy on the other hand might be my favourite episode they've done.

Six episodes in on S02. This is a really good shitty show. Like Dexter in its heyday.

^^^ sure is. Best actor on the show. Dude was even great in the overall shitty and short lived Law & Order: LA.

The craziest part to me is how quickly they burn through plot on this show. It makes sense for a network show that's under threat of cancelation, but not for a Netflix original. I guess Homeland is the same way and is on Showtime, but still bizarre.
You have the Vice President of the United States kill a reporter with his bare hands in public in the 14th episode?,where the fuck do you go from there?

Please watch the spoilers. I agree though, everything is a race, pun. Race to make it. Race to the plot. Race to binge watch.

Scandals does this show better and is more entertaining. House of Cards is basically Scandals but with a whole "this show is important" layer on top of it but that layer has no depth at all.

This is not very good. Franks wheeling and dealing is kind of one note, there's some inconsistent characterization, and one subplot was so dumb/bad/tonally jarring that I wish it was dropped altogether. Not terrible, but I doubt I'll be coming back for S3.
