I always flipflop between 3 and 4. Thought this would be a lot closer.
We need Icedawg to come back and argue for season 2.

Worst part of the entire show has to be the McNulty/fake serial killer story right?

Serious nosedive. Some of the new dudes were a lot more one dimensional too.

Season 2s good but I hope I dont still find Ziggy as annoying to watch when I revisit, what a melter. Plus Cheese.

2 is wildly underrated, some of the best writing of the series. Frank Sobotka is one of the show's strongest characters.

3 is overrated because it has Hamsterdam and Stringer died yo but its very uneven and the story doesn't really come together to anything coherent until the last few episodes. Also, Stringer was kind of a bitch in general, and the whole thing with Donette is a waste of screen time

I think with season two, it's a matter of interest. It was undoubtedly well done (minus Ziggy being the worst and excruciating to watch) but I just didn't care about that port story line that much. Felt the same way about the mayoral election to a lesser extent. While it's easy to roll your eyes at that and be like "You just like the cop/gang based story lines", the fact of the matter is, I did. That shit is just way more interesting to me than all the other stuff. I'm a simple man, guys.

The last 3 episodes of season 3 push it ahead of 1, but it's close and I wouldn't fault anyone for putting the middle three in any order. 4 is clearly the best and 5 is clearly the worst.

Ziggy is supposed to be grating, that's kinda the whole point of the character.

Also, you guys are overlooking how much of the foundation for S3 is layed down in S2. There's a lot more of the street stuff going on there than people remember.

And season 2 definitely caught me off guard when I went through the series and was a little put off because, like Block, I just enjoyed the street shit more, but after revisiting that season it is excellent. Frank and Nick more than make up for the awfulness of Ziggy.

I really enjoyed the political shit, but I have a feeling I'm in the minority on that.

Any complaints you have about season 3 can also be said about season 2.
I don't agree with the hate that season 2 gets, but drizzle is being ridiculous.

Yeah, man.

My favorite in S4 was actually the Prez as a math teacher story line in the hood. I'm a simple man, too.

The last one definitely was not the best, so I will have to toe the line and select four. Was four the one that had 'Hamsterdam'? The summer one? I haven't watched The Wire in a bit.

far more people like to talk about s2 being under appreciated than there are people who under appreciate it. or some wording like that. it's really one of the most often said things anyways

I think the dude who played Ziggy is a shitty actor. That's my beef with the role.
