this movie was super fun. i'm sure there were a ton of plotholes, and dumb shit, and people will complain, but i left the theater very happy. best one since the first one.

the trailer just looks like so much cliche and predictability. i'll probably give it a shot cause the wife want to see it, but i'm not excited for it in the least.

i'm sure if you go in thinking it's gonna suck, you can find reasons it sucks while you're watching. i went in wanting to see a bunch of dinosaurs wreck shit, and that's what happened so i'm down.

The dinosaurs wrecking shit was amazing. Better than any of the fights in the recent Godzilla or Transformers films. The Rom-Com/ Militatry industrialization/Family Drama elements that get mentioned and never resolved I could really do without, which is why I recommend seeing the film in 3D as while they were going on I just focused on watching the cool dinosaurs in the background.

But Pratt's line "Maybe progress should lose for once" is tied with Russel's "With all due respect, you guys did greats" in Furious 7 for most jarringly bad line of dialogue in an otherwise fun action movie.

Of all the allusions to the series' past in Jurassic World, none was more shocking than the beautiful homage to Warpath: Jurassic Park.

How does it compare to something like the most recent Planet of the Apes-movie? I thought that was good and I hope this of a similar quality.

Much worse. Those are good to great movies. This is a fun time, but not much more.

lmao I hope you're not joking. Also, according to Wiki, Giacchino did the music for that too, which is a fun little tidbit

same

look for what its worth

(haterism below)
jurassic park one is a good movie that is being remembered as being better than it was for different reasons than what actually made it a good movie

jp1 was good because
1) the premise dinosaurs reborn and the ethical undercurrent was basically new to the generation in the way it was being done
2) the acting was actually very good and made the shit better than it otherwise would have been
3) the music was just right
4) the story revolved around the right people and their relationship to shit not just zomg dinosaurs but the dinosaur shit was like basically super new cutting edge shit (whereas this is just some 'wow computer graphics have gotten real cool' shit)

nowadays shit is so boiled down theres none of the structural shit that actually makes shit a quality movie. a person doesnt need to see this movie to know its no resurgence of quality shit just zomg dinosaurs best grffx ever

People really love dinos I guess since everyone is rushing to see this. I was fucking obsessed with those things as a kid and I suppose they're still popular or it wouldn't draw a crowd like that.

ric you're pretty much wrong about everything you typed though.

this movie, like the first, is about unethical creation of extinct species. the acting in the first jurassic park is formidable but by no means anything to write home about. the score in this movie clearly pays homage to the first. this story literally revolves around almost the exact human relations as the first.

you're making a bunch of dumb arguments that aren't really that true about the first JP and are essentially equally as true about Jurassic World. the highest praise the movie is getting is it's essentially exactly like JP1, just recreated for the fans of it back then to take their kids to now.

for you to take some moral stance against this movie (of all the reboots) is pretty silly.

you're right dude. when man's folly drives him to a film about cgi smart lizards over a movie about cgi muppets with lazers, truly we are doomed as species
